(Zoe's P.O.V)
"Ugh, Mom's gonna kill me" I said, staring at my math final grade. I had gotten a 40 percent. I was intelligent, but I had never been good at math. I felt tears streaking down my face. I hated math. I hated everything. Right now, I just wanted to lay in a dark corner and sleep. I turned to see a black thing headed for me. I didn't have time to run. Before I could even turn around, the black object slammed into my chest, engulfing me in the very same darkness I had wanted to hide in.
(5 minutes later)
When I woke up, I was very surprised I wasn't dead. I tore up the math grade, and walked home. I saw a note on the door. " The place where the object had hit me begun to hurt. I decided to get some Advil. When I went to the bathroom to get some, I screamed. A black gem was now embedded in the middle of my chest. I had light brown hair, but now my bangs were black. First the math grade, now this?! Am I cursed?!
