Ahhhh! A new fic for y'all. I don't know what my schedule is going to be for this book, but work with me!
Kylie POV
Come on Kylie! I whispered to myself as I ran out of my house. I was already late for work and I knew that I was going to be even later if I didn't move my ass. I had to make a quick Starbucks stop, because it was my turn to buy. Where I worked we all had to bring coffee one day of the month and today just happened to be my day. I drove through the LA streets like a maniac, and I prayed I wouldn't get pulled over. I arrived at Starbucks and ran inside to find, thank god, a short line. I got up to the counter and ordered what everyone wanted, and when I went to pay, I realized that I had forgotten my wallet. Shit, I thought to myself, I am never going to live this down.
Out of nowhere, I heard a voice say, "Let me pay." I recognized the voice, but I couldn't seem to place it, and when I turned around my jaw fell open in shock. There standing behind me was the Jared Padalecki. I was a ginormous fan of his and to see him standing there in all his beautiful, longhaired, puppy dog-like, glory was rad. I smiled and said, "Thank you! You are something of a life saver."
"No problem. You seem to be in a rush, so I thought why not help someone out?"
"You do not understand how much that means to me. Please, let me pay you back sometime?"
"Never," he told me, "This is a kind act, no repayment necessary."
"Okay," I replied suspiciously, "Just don't try and come find me and ask for your money, kay?"
He laughed and said, "Okay..."
"Kylie," I interrupted.
"Kylie. That's a nice name. I'm Jared."
"I know! I have to run but thank you so much for the help."
He laughed as I ran out of the Starbucks and back to the car. When I looked at the clock, I had five minutes to get to work before I was late. Shit. I drove to work as fast as I could and when I pulled in, I had one minute to spare. I grabbed all of my stuff, and ran inside. I handed everyone his or her coffee, and ran into my office to put my stuff down. As I plopped down in my chair I realized what had just occurred and I screamed mentally. I just met Jared Padalecki. He (and Sam) had saved me from myself so many times. I was nineteen when the show started and now, I am twenty-nine, and I work in a corporate job, that I kind of hate.
My one savior is that I have a lot of time to do stuff, because I determine my hours. They tell me how many hours I need to work, and I can make my schedule the way I want. The only reason I was rushing this morning was because we have our meetings in the morning. My true passion though is acting, and I wish I could do it more. It is such a tough business to break into, and I want it so bad, so I always am going on auditions when I'm not working. I had one this afternoon actually. I was really excited.
After my meeting this morning, I raced back home and changed for my audition. I always wore all black on auditions, because it looked more professional. I made sure to have my wallet this time, so I didn't have to have someone pay for something else. I grabbed all of my stuff and headed to the place where the audition was. I pulled in and walked into the waiting room to find about one hundred people sitting in the room. The nerves I was feeling increased tenfold, but I managed to keep myself together.
There were about ten more people in the room when my name was called. I stood up, grabbed all my things, placed a smile on my face and headed in. I walked into the room and handed all of the people a copy of my headshots and resume. They, in return, handed me a copy of a section of script. I looked it over once or twice, understanding that this was a long lost sister's plea to her two brothers, asking them to help her. I read the monologue once, looked up from the page, and saw the five people in the room with tears in their eyes. I gasped. That had never happened in an audition before.
The person, who I assumed was the head, said to me, "Can you leave us for one second?"
"Um, sure," I replied shakily.
I exited the room and disappointment fell over me like a sheet. A heavy, black, overrated sheet. I sat in the waiting room for a few minutes, and kept looking at the lines they had given me. I was so distracted that when my name was called once again, I jumped a little. I calmed myself down and when I reentered the room, there were about forty people in the room. My jaw fell open, but quickly I composed myself. The head said, "Can you read the lines again?"
I obliged happily, and when I was done, there was not a dry eye in the room. Inside I felt pretty triumphant, but outside I kept my cool. The head guy said, "We'll be in touch."
I smiled politely and I walked out of the room. I headed back to my car, feeling really triumphant about that audition. I drove over to the nearest Whole Foods, because I was in desperate need of some groceries. I was constantly working out, which means that I needed to maintain my fridge to a certain degree. I had almost no food in the house, and that was a bad thing. I pulled into the parking lot, grabbed my wallet and my purse, and went inside.
After an hour and a half in Whole Foods, I was exhausted and had everything I needed for a while. I was standing in line to pay for my groceries, and I felt a tap on my shoulder. I whirled around to find Jared smiling at me. He joked, "Need me to pay for those groceries?"
"Hah, hah, you're hilarious. No, I remembered my wallet this time."
He smiled, and my stomach did a few flips. "Why did you change? You weren't wearing this when I met you this morning."
"I had an audition. I like to wear all black because it looks more professional."
"Audition? What for?"
"I don't know. They wouldn't tell me. But I made a room of forty people cry."
"Wow, that's impressive."
"Yeah, I guess. I hope I get it. It seems like an interesting role."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
After I said that, it was finally my turn to pay for my groceries. I paid, grabbed my bags and waved bye to Jared. I got into my car and drove home. I put everything away, and was finally able to fall into bed for the night.
