A few days later and everything had seemed to return to normal. At least that's what I thought.

Suddenly the phone rang. I picked it up cautiously and answered.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hello Charlotte." That voice. I bit my lip and replied shakily, "What do you want."
"Its simple. You come and meet me and everything will be okay."
I laughed inside and said, "No way. I'm not stupid."
"Fine. Then your husband won't be safe anymore." He said.
My hands started to shake and I gripped the phone tightly and held onto the table with my other hand. "Leave him alone." I said.
"Then meet me. Its your choice. Meet me and he stays safe don't meet me and you might not love what happens to him." He said.
I gulped. James was tough. Really tough. But I couldn't risk anything. I need him. Especially now more than ever.
"Do you even know who he is?" I asked.
"Of course I do. Which makes this all the more exciting."
"Then you know he can track my location anywhere in the world. He can find me and when he does he will not hesitate to do something very bad to you." I said.
"He won't find me." He said.
"No he will find me then he will know who you are and-"
"Charlotte. I've tried reasoning with you. You either come and meet me or James won't even be able to get to you because he will already be dead. And believe me. I think that's the last thing you want." He said sounding as though he was getting irritated.

What the hell can I do? If I don't meet him James may not come home tonight. And if I do go I still may not ever see him again. Maybe I could text James and tell him to be cautious and get me.

"Charlotte. You-"
"Fine. Where shall I meet you." I said.
"How about outside the shop where we first met." He said and I could hear a smile through the way he spoke.
"Fine." I said hanging up.

I quickly called James on my mobile. "Hello honey." He said. "James I need to do something. But keep track of where I am in case I get lost." I said.
"What? Why. Where are you going?" He asked. "James I- it's a surprise.." I lied. If I told him I'd lose him and I need him. I love him.
"Alright. Just please be safe. Don't do anything that would harm you or the baby. Promise? I'll keep track of you if you need me then call me." He said.
"And what if I can't call you." I asked.
"What do you mean, if you can't call me." He said.
"James in case my battery goes dead or I have no signal I don't know." I said.
"Then I don't know just keep safe." He said. "Okay... James?"
"Yes."
"I love you. So so much." I whispered.
"Hey I love you too kitten. Be safe." He said.
"I will." I said hanging up the phone.
Be safe he tells me. I'll try. I hate going behind his back.

Later I reached the street where Zachary first saw me. I hesitated to cross the road but he wasn't there yet. I just wanted to turn around and leave. But I couldn't. I mean, I could but I won't.

I crossed the road and stood waiting. A few minutes later a black car with tinted windows pulled up beside me. The driver unrolled his window and there he was. He had this smile. Not a nice smile but this contestant grin. I raised my eyebrow and swallowed.

"Get in." He said turning back to face the front as he pressed the button to do up his window.
I walked around and got in the passenger seat. I sat down.
"Start talking then." I said.

He started to laugh. "Talk? Fine. But not here. Put your belt on." He said and he pulled away.
"Why me?" I asked.
"You'll find out soon." He said.
"I swear to God. If you go against your word. If you even hurt James in the slightest I will kill you." I said.
"You're here therefore he's fine." Zachary said.
"He better be." I said.

Soon we arrived at what looked like an apartment only he was the only one who lived there. I realised this when I walked inside. There was only three floors but from outside it looked like an apartment.

"Sit." He said as he made me a drink in the kitchen. I sat down and he handed me a tea. "Thanks but no thanks." I said putting the cup down.

"What, you don't trust me?" He asked sitting opposite me.
"Nope. Of course I don't." I said folding my arms.
"You will trust me." He grinned taking a sip of his tea.
"What makes you think that?" I asked raising and eyebrow.
"Trust me, I can make a lot of people do  things. And making you trust me will be one of them." He said.

"You can't make me do anything." I said. Zachary nodded and put his tea down. "True. But I can make you do anything. As long as Jim dear is safe then of course you'd do anything for me. Anything, from the smallest thing to the biggest. I have my ways Charlotte. Do not test me."

He sounded a lot like James. And when James said it I didn't feel afraid I knew he was either joking or serious. But James' serious was much calmer to me compared to the fear I felt when Zachary said it.

I swallowed and his gaze never left mine.
"Honey, let me show you something." He said standing up. Why did he sound like James. It was weird and uncomfortable.

He led me down the stairs into a basement and he switched on the light. I looked around and my body froze. Literally. Goosebumps appeared within seconds and the chill of the basement made my skin crawl and then my heartbeat was going at such a fast pace I could feel it without having to hold a hand against my chest.

"This is where the magic happens." He said while placing his hands on my shoulders. "But its okay." He whispered. He then moved his hands down and wrapped his arms around me.

He wasn't just weird. He was a complete psycho. I felt him inhale against my hair and he said, "Haven't you guessed it yet?" He asked.
"Guessed what?"I said shaking.
"Why I chose you?" He asked.
"N-no." I said my voice breaking from fear.
"Let me show you." He said letting go of me and walking away from me.

The whole room, the whole basement. Was just.. A nightmare.
