All books have stories
All stories have a meaning
And all covers are deceiving
A smile is what you see
But tears are what she holds
A happy family
Is what you think she has
But the arguments continue behind closed doors
And leaving is on her father's mind
And "gay" is a whisper in the back of her mind
A laugh is what you hear
But her cries are always nearby
You think she goes to bed
A smile on her lips
A laugh in her heart
But she goes to bed crying
A prayer in her heart
That her father will still be there
And that her secret will remain untold
When the sun rises again
And a new day starts
Like your always told
Don't judge a book by it's cover
Looks are deceiving
If you think someone is always happy
Look closer
You might notice that they're a lot like you
Covered in scars
And weeping
With secrets they're keeping
YOU ARE READING
Behind The Barriers
