☪ Chapter 4 ☪

-Shizuka's POV-

I looked around at all the people, admiring their costumes & acts. As Anika had said, the parade charged through our town; tearing apart the night's peaceful silence & replacing it with an enticing chaos that just screamed fun. I panicked for a moment,

'where'd Sumi go?!' I searched the crowd, finding my friend without trouble & rushing over to her. Honestly the loud noise was a little daunting... oh well, that doesn't mean it wasn't fun!

-Anika's POV-

I glanced at my friends, they were practically jumping up & down with excitement. Well, so was I.
Mizumi shoved her head through the curtains, looking out at all the people watching the performances.
"Guys!!" Syth shouted, grabbing us both, "We're next!" She whisper-yelled. Mizu & I exchanged a nervous glance, before returning our attention to the stage. We walked up to the stage and Syth went infront, grabbing the mic.

"Hello everyone! what we'll be showing you is completely safe to all of you, and we promise not hurt anyone, we will be performing a fighting act, each against the other, please enjoy!" Syth waved and ran back to us.

We all ignited our magic, my fire bursting around me, while Synthia's water and Mizumi's wind magic swirling around them, making the viewers look at us in amazement. "look mama! the girl isn't burning!" a little kid pointed at me, tugging on his mother's arm.

"Water Dragons Roar!" Syth aimed an attack on me, I dodged it immidetly and sent a fiery fist at her, Mizumi ran towards us with her hands stiff and air swirling around it. "Sky Demons Slash!" she shouted, her aim all at me, the two grinned at each other and made a stance, I analyzed it and it clicked to me. I'm dead.

"that's not fair!" I shouted at the last second, as their magic was heading to me, I flipped back and dodged their unending attacks, basically, it's Syth's water balls at fucking high speed because of Mizu, and her water balls were always fast, meaning 2x faster. One was heading to me and I couldn't react in time, so I sent a "Fire Demons Rage!!!" I shouted, my fire evaporating the water and hitting both of them.

"Sky Demons Secret Art: Tornado!" Mizumi shouted, a tornado going to me, my fire died out and I had no choice but to do my best and dodge it.

I ran around with a tornado in tail, I smirked and ran towards Syth, Immidietly dodging back, making the tornado hit her, and I stifled a laugh.

-Synthia's P.O.V.-

I sent Anika an irritated glare and soaked her wet with a surprise Water Dragons Roar. "I'm in a disadvantage because of you guys' magic!" Anika whined and we laughed at her.

"fine, no more teaming up!" I declared. "Water Dragons wing attack!" I sent an attack flying towards Mizumi to prove my point. she squealed in surprise & glared at me.

"Syth!!" I laughed, although I was quickly silenced by a gust of wind that blew me backwards off my feet. Okay, so there's officially no more teams. I sent water flying at both my friends, Anika dodged it & as I turned around to see what happened to Mizu..

"Where'd she go?" I heard Anika call across the stage, I shrugged. At that moment we were both suddenly pinned down & we could hear Mizumi laughing from somewhere above us, as we looked up it became quite obvious that she had used her sky magic to fly up above us. We both gave her angry glares, Anika tried breathing fire at her, but it obviously didn't work.

"MIZUMI!!" We yelled in sync, "This is something you do against an enemy, not your friends dammit!" I shouted at her,

"You are the enemy!" She shouted back, engulfing us both in small tornado bubbles. She allowed herself to land back on the ground, flipping her bright red hair over her shoulder & turned to the crowd.

"Looks like I win!" She yelled, throwing her hands up & grinning at the townsfolk's applause.

-Mizumi's P.O.V-

"Looks like I win!" I laughed as the crowd cheered, then they all went silent, as if in anticipation. "huh?" I turned around just in time to see a ball of flame heading for me. I gasped & tried to move out of the way, but there was water holding me in place. I screamed, when all of a sudden the flames halted a hairs length in front of my face.

"Looks like who wins?" Anika smirked, crossing her arms. I glanced to Synthia for help but she feigned innocence & grinned at me. I sighed in defeat, hanging my head.

"Fine, you win." I muttered.

"What was that?"

"I SAID YOU WIN!" I yelled at Anika, Syth laughed behind her.

"Don't mumble Mizu-chan~" she laughed. A rueful smirk appeared on my face as I glanced at my friends, "Okay okay, I get it-"

There was a loud thunder-like crash from somewhere behind us. I was released from Synthia's hold as she turned in surprise. Anika yelled at something & we both looked down to see Dai running up to the float as fast as he could.

"You guys!" He shouted, panting in between words, "The towns being.. attacked.. do something.. quick!" The three of us glanced at each other,

"Well, I guess we just got our newest mission." Anika joked with a grim smile, Syth tried laughing to lighten the mood, but it didn't help.

"So guys, we're already warmed up, should we go easy on then?" She questioned, I shook my head,

"Nah, as you said Syth, we're already warmed up, so let's give it our all."
