☪ Chapter 3 ☪

1 week later

-Synthia's POV-

I opened the guild doors to find my friends already there, laughing about some strange joke. I sighed & rolled my eyes, walking slowly towards them while fiddling with my fingers. Mizumi was talking to Shizuka & Nasumi, while Anika & Daichi were having their own conversation. Instinctively I went to Mizu,

"What's with them?" She shrugged & continued the conversation. I watched as Nika started laughing, grinning before the two joined us.

"What are we gonna do? (Guild master) is leaving tomorrow!!" Shizuka wailed,

"I don't know... we need to find someone to put in charge." Mizumi glanced at me as she spoke, hinting something that I was unaware of.
"Well," Anika said, putting her hand out in front of her & holding up two fingers. "We'll just have to spend all day looking for someone!" She announced.
So that's exactly what we did.

-Nasumi's POV-
"Yoshiku-kun~" Shizuka yelled, running up to one of the strongest guys in the guild. Although, I thought, he doesn't really have the brains for the job.
"Yuka-chan..." I looked at my friend warily, rolling my eyes. I wonder how Mizu & the others are doing...

-Mizumi's POV-
"Who in this guild can replace our mistress? Even if only for a week... Gahh!!" Syth yelled, the water from the river next to us boiled as she shouted at it. "This water bothers me!! It's too- too... I don't know... Too perfect!!" I sighed, glancing at the water & then roughing it up with my sky magic. I gritted my teeth, glaring at the water.
"It is too perfect isn't it?" Then a cheeky smile appeared on my face & I shrugged, "Come on Syth. There's nothing there, look." This time I pushed the water around with more force, trying not to smile as the resistence I felt from before disapeared with the increased power. Synthia frowned, using her own powers to push the river along. Eventually she seemed satisfied, following me along the path towards the Phoenix Nest.

-Anika's POV-
"Crap!" I glanced warily at Dai as he struggled with the water.
"Need some help?" I asked. He shook his head, 'This guys as stubborn as his sister!' I was standing in an air bubble that Dai had created to hide us from my friends, truth be told I had no idea why we were hiding, we just were.
"Can you see them?" Dai asked,
"No. I think we're safe." I replied, laughing as he sighed with relief & slowly moved the water aside for us to resurface. As we reached the shore, I turned around & looked up at the setting sun. An idea shot into my head & I grinned from ear to ear, turning around to face the demon slayer with a maniac kind of look plastered on my face.

"I have an idea!"

-Synthia's POV-

"Eehhh?!" I shouted in surprise as Anika told us her 'plan'. She had gotten me, Mizu, Dai, Yuka & Sumi to gather the guild so she could make an announcement. Although her announcement was something positive, the thought of...

"Syth, come here for a sec," She called, beckoning for me to join her on stage. I shook my head frantically, but Mizumi decided it was a good idea to shove me forward with her sky magic until I was standing next to Nika. The guild stared for a moment, Mizari looked on from the second floor; stifling a laugh. I sighed, then slowly & reluctantly nodded. I watched as my guildmates continued to stay silent, but then Mizari began clapping. The rest of my friends began to join her & soon people were cheering their approval of our decision, although it was more Anika. I looked up to Mizari & she nodded with a reassuring smile on her face.

"I can't believe you idiots, especially you Nika, for having faith in me to do this. I mean seriously, me as the replacement guild mistress?! You must all be crazy, however," I started, pausing for effect & looking over the guild with a determined glint in my eyes, "I will accept the position." Everyone cheered again as I handed the microphone back to my blue-haired friend.

-Anika's POV-

"Yes! Well, now you know what this kind of news calls for?"

"Party!" The whole guild erupted in laughter, stopping only when I tapped the mic for silence.

"Today, we're gonna have kind of a special party~" I gave my friends a half nervous half excited glance & continued with my speech. "We're going to the festival in town! Now, of course I doubt any of you were notified, but it was supposed to be a surprise & we pulled some strings to get in on it..." I turned around to Mizumi who was staring at her feet, her face flushed beet red. ( DO NOT MISINTERPRET THAT TO ANYTHING INAPPROPRIATE ) "Well anyway, let's get going!!"
