Alex had always been taller than me by almost a whole head, when I finally started having feelings for him, was a day we were coming home late from hanging out.

“It was so fun!” he says looking at me in the eyes. He bended his knees just a little so he could be the same height as me. He extended his arms out for a hug so I did. His arms were around my waist while mine were around his upper back. We stayed like that for what felt like forever. He pulled away just enough to look at me, and kissed my cheek softly… so I did the same. Not knowing that would just make me think of him all night.

“Bye” I say to him as I pull away and he stands up straight. “See you Friday?” I say wanting to make this a little less awkward.

“Duh” he says with that beautiful grin. He smiled at me and waved goodbye, leaving me with all those mixed feelings inside me. I didn’t really know what I felt but whatever it was, it felt incredible.

Alex had that beautiful effect on me, leaving me with tingly sensations whenever he hugged me or when he looked at me in the eyes and I couldn’t help but stare at the ground to avoid his intense gaze. Or whenever he took me by my waist to walk somewhere or when he knew exactly what I was feeling I couldn’t help but think I had already developed strong feelings for this guy.

Dad had stopped by last night to check up on me and I had told Alex not to come back because I was too tired for my own good, and I needed a goodnight sleep. He didn’t complain because he knew I was stubborn as heck and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

“Miss Wyatt?” a little woman said from the door, which I would think was a nurse ‘because no one I knew personally called me ‘Miss Wyatt’

“Come on in?” I said doubting a little, a red headed woman came in carrying a tray with food. Until she left the plate on the portable table I noticed how hungry I really was, I hadn’t really eaten much last night and hospital food is not exactly my favorite.

“Here’s your food, girl” she said smiling and I smiled back grateful of the plate with some oatmeal an apple and a milk.

“Thank you” I say taking the apple in my hands. Before I take a bite, and watch her leave the room. I have seen this nurse so many times and I always smile when I see her. Even though I am in a hospital she makes me feel I was somewhere else… I don’t know why she always seems so happy and full of life, but it’s contagious and I always feel better when she comes around.

 Three days later…

“Skylee, we are so glad to have you back!” my mother said while hugging me tight. I was finally back home, and Alex was here with my family to ‘celebrate’.

“I’m glad I’m back to mom” I say still hugging her back tight. I don’t know when she pulled away but then it was Alex’s turn. His arms were securely around my waist pulling me closer to him. I had my head buried in his chest, I could smell his perfume and I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of him wearing the perfume I had given him. I pulled away and smiled at him.

“Well you guys need to catch up, so we’ll leave you alone.” My mother said leaving the room with dad and Matt, leaving me and my best friend alone in the living room. I sat down on the couch and thought of what to say, I hadn’t done anything interesting during these past few days and Alex looked distracted. I pulled out my phone and opened the Twitter app.

“What are you doing?” Alex says while sitting down next to me. I can feel the heat from his arms next to mine. His presence had never really affected me emotionally until now… What is going on with me?
