Chapter Six:

In the minutes after Snape walked out of the door, Umbridge seemed to debate with herself, muttering quietly, slapping her wand against her palm angrily, leaving it looking red and splotchy.  Her chest was practically heaving as what I assumed were anger and frustration built up inside of her, leaving her face just as red as her palm.  It would have been comical if the idea of what she was thinking wasn't quite so frightening.

The intensity, the seriousness building up in her eyes couldn't mean anything good, that was for absolute sure.

"You are forcing me, Potter.  This is a matter of Ministry secruity and I am sure the minister will understand that I had no choice... The Cruciatus curse should loosen your tongue a bit."

Hermione yelled at her, repeating what Umbridge already knew; that it was illegal, but the Headmistress paid no mind, and right then, right there, I realized we weren't so different.  She looked excited and eager to use the curse on my brother, not too different from how I felt when Blue was brought before me in front of the Dark Lord.

I'd never been more disgusted by what I'd become when I realized this.

"The Minster wouldn't want you to break the law, Professor Umbridge!" Hermione screeched, trying to push Millicent off of her to no avail.  I waited for a reply, thinking that perhaps that would knock sense into the Toad.  She adored the Minister of Magic, she wouldn't do something to make him upset.. would she?

"What Cornelius doesn't know, can't hurt him," Umbridge smiled sweetly, moving a picture on her desk until it was face down, her eyes glistened with malice as her wand moved from body part to body part on Harry's body.

Was she.. trying to figure out where would cause the most pain?

"He never knew I ordered dementors after Potter last summer, but he was delighted to be given the chance to expel him all the same."
