"So tell us about this guy" he said curiously
My moms eyes grew wide. "What guy?!"
I took a deep breathe.
"So, a few days ago I went to the city. I went into a record shop, you know looking through records. I turned around and I bumped into this guy. We made small talk and he invited me for coffee."
"Is that when I called you?" My mom asked interrupting me
"Yep" I said nodding slightly
"We introduced each other. His name is Michael. We talked for a few and then he told me that he was in this band called 5 Seconds of Summer. I never heard of the band and of course I told him. He invited me to their show and I went."
"He introduced me to the rest of the band. And we hung out the following day." I finished
"So where is he? Is he coming over?" My mom said
My dad was just staring at me, giving me "the look" (eyes squinting trying to figure this Michael guy out)
I took another deep breathe
"Him being in a band, pretty famous one by that...he goes on tours. Soooo he's on tour right now. Actually he left yesterday."
I started choking up trying to hold back tears.
My dad went to sit by my side.
"So you guys aren't dating? Or are you?" My dad asked while rubbing my back
"We are. He asked my to be his girlfriend the day after we met"
Before my parents could say anything my phone started ringing. I looked at the screen and saw Michael's name glowing.
"We'll leave you alone" my dad said getting up and taking my mom by her hand and leaving the room
"Hello?" I said through the phone
Michael's POV:
"Hello"
I heard her voice through the phone.
"Hi love, how are ya?" I asked
"I'm alright, I'm at my parents house...I uhm....just told them about you" she said a bit nervous
"Haha really?! What did they say? Do they like me?" I asked with a smile on my face.
"Yeah, I guess. I mean, my mom seems to like you already, she just wants to see you"
"But what about your dad?"
"He's a bit unsure."
"Oh"
"Don't get him wrong. I bet he'll like you too but he just needs to officially meet you, you know?"
"Right right, I mean I understand. Besides you're the youngest so I would assume he would act like that"
I had to admit, I was glad that Erika mentioned me to her parents already but it would have been nice if I was there personally.
Erika seemed calm through the phone but I knew what was wrong.
"I made a tweet about how I wasn't going to accept the kind of hatred you were getting" I said with a firm voice
Erika's POV:

I lost my breathe for a second
"W-what" I said finally letting words out
"Yeah I went on Twitter and I saw all the mean things some of the fans were saying to you. And of course the pictures."
"You didn't have to." I said
"Yes I did. And I had to do something about it. I tweeted my thoughts and I defended you."
"You didn't have to"
"Well too bad because I did! I did defend you! I did get mad! I did give them a peace of my mind! You know why?! Because I love you! Because I want you to be happy! Because I want to show them and you that you're the most important thing to me!"
Tears were going down my face
"Michael" I said barely a whisper
"I love you"

"Could you let me talk!"
"Yes, but first..I love you"
I sighed, a small smile forming on my face.
I got up from the couch and started walking towards the stairs to go to my room.
I opened the door and saw that everything was exactly the same as I left it when I left for college.
I sat down on the middle of my bed.
"Michael I love you too trust me but, I don't want you to get in trouble for defending me." I said
"Why would I get in trouble? It's not like I'm the only person who's defended their other half. Other celebrities have done it too. Don't worry"
"Okay - "
"Hey I'm sorry but I have to go. The guys and I have an interview. I'll call you later alright?"
"Alright"
