Dinner

Meeting the parents pt. 6

The two young lovers came down the stairs and Serene similed at the two.

"Sit, I'll get our food" Silas said.

Free took a sit at the square table. The table had four chairs, one on each side. The table was bare with no plates just the utensils. Then Silas came back with a plate of spaghetti and meatballs in each hand. He placed a plate in front of Free and one on his spot. Silas also got cups for him and Free for there was a water pitcher on the table. Then they all started to eat.

"So Free... how old are you? You seem younger than Silas" Eric asked.

Free paused and looked at Silas confused. He didn't expect the question, he thought his parents knew of the age gap because Silas told them or something.

"I'm eighteen" he said.

"Any plans for the future? You still basically have your whole life ahead of you" he said.

"I want to continue to beyblade"

"Are you gonna continue with bc sol?"

"Yeah but I would get my own apartment or house with Silas and I'll marry him probably sooner then later"

"Marriage?!" Both of them said the father choking on his food and the mother excited.

"Marriage?! That's wonderful! Did Silas tell you that he used to be so against marriage?" Serene said.

"No he didn't..." Free said looking at him. 

"That was a long time ago when I was younger and my last girlfriend broke up with me, so I started to think marriage was not happening for me"

"But then you met me?"

"Heh then I met you-"

"What's the rush?" Eric asked.

"Oh no, no rush at all we talked about marrying each other when I turn twenty or twenty one but if we feel we're not ready then we won't do it"

"Free how many lovers have you had?" Eric asked.

"None but-"

"I just don't think it's a good idea to marry so young when you haven't even been with anyone else but Silas"

"Right but I never liked anyone else, my whole life I never loved anyone other than myself and beyblade and I've been to many places and met many, many people and I never felt anything with them... if we do fall out of love with each other then so be it but Silas has been good to me and we don't plan on leaveing each other so why not marry?"

"Do you want any kids?"

"Maybe but that's not happening till we are both older"

"But-"

"Honey, drop it" Serene said.

"I think it's wonderful that your two want to get married, marriage is a beautiful thing plus it's one step closer to giving us grandchildren!" Serene said.

Free softly smiled and then it went away and the rest of dinner was quiet.

Once dinner was done everyone washed up and went to bed. Silas was asleep but not Free. He couldn't sleep after what Silas's father said to him. He slowly got up and left. He went down the stairs and went out the front and sat at the front steps. He called Kris.

"Hello? Kris?"

"Hello Free, did something happened?" Kris asked.

"Yes... I don't think his dad likes me..."

"Oh? Why?"

"Well I started talking about marriage and stuff and he said 'I just don't think you should marry so young if the only person you've been with is Silas'" Free said.

"Oh I see"

"And I don't know what to do now, it's the first day and I basically screwed up already..."

"...well I guess you have to show him just how much you love Silas and if by the end of your stay he's still against it, you march up to him and tell him why'd you be a prefect match for his son, and don't worry about him enjoy your stay" Kris said.

"I see, thanks Kris, bye"

"Bye, Free"

"Free?" A voice said behind Free.

He knew it was Silas and he turned around and saw him leaning on the doorway.

"What happened? Are you still upset about what happened with my father?"

"...Would it be bad if I said yes?"

"No not at all I'm upset about it too... do you want to talk about it?" The taller one moving closer to the other and sitting next to him on the steps.

"Yes..." Free said while placing his head on his lovers shoulder.

"I was trying very hard today to impress them-"

"Whoa you trying to impress people that's a first-"

"That's because I don't know how to act this is new to me, you know that, and not only that I don't have parents so I don't know what a mom and dad is like and I really want yours to look at me like a son" Free admitted.

"I'm sure they do look at you like a son already or else my dad wouldn't care so much and my mom wouldn't be so happy for us" Silas said.

"You think so?"

"Yes I know so I lived with them for most of my life, hey how about tomorrow we go on that date I was talking about? I'll take you to my favorite spots" Silas said while getting up and offering a hand to Free.

"Ok" Free said while placing his hand in his lovers.

They both retired to their bed.

"And free?"

"Yes?"

"Don't worry about impressing them so much" he said while kissing his lovers face.

'I can't lose you to your thoughts about this or worse you hate yourself because of this"

"Heh ok!" Free said giving Silas a reassuring smile.
