Alphonse's POV:
(Y/N) was laying peacefully in the bed. Her condition didn't seem to be much improved. Her breathing was labored, despite the fact that her breaths were quick and shallow. She was trying her best... I could tell. But I think she's dying. She hasn't spoken a word ever since she mumbled to me back at the warehouse.
A... Al... w-what... you shouldn't be here...
The words echo through my head like a broken record. What had she meant? Was she just dazed? Was she worried about what Envy would do to Edward and I? Or was it something else?
I wanted her to wake up. I wanted to see those pretty eyes of hers. Those same eyes that she saw me with all those years ago. The ones that she had looked at me with when I was a human, and even as I was trapped in this suit of armor. Her eyes were filled with such beauty and hope. But now, here she was, lying on the bed. Her fever had gotten much worse. The doctors are worried that such a high fever could cause brain damage. But that's just what they are telling me.
I've seen the way the doctors have talked to Edward. How they would glance over at me to see if I was listening. But of course I was. Edward has started to be a little nicer and less stubborn around me the past two days. But that doesn't really matter to me. No, it worries me. I know that he's hiding something. Something that really doesn't need to be hidden. I already know what's going on.
I look back down at (Y/N) sadly. I brush a bit of hair that slipped down into her face back behind her ear. She lets out a soft sound as soon as the metal brushes up against her skin. In fact, she even pressed a bit closer to my cold, metal hand. Perhaps it soothed her. So I gently rested my metal hand on her forehead, letting the ice cold metal cool her head down, and took her hand with my other hand. Beads of sweat went down the side of her face.
Yes...
It is true...
She is dying...
Envy will pay for this. With every bit of him that he has. He will pay.
