Chapter 24

Haley and I played for a solid two hours before I laid down on the couch for a nap. I was exhausted. The entire time we were playing video games my phone was vibrating nonstop; I ignored it and every other text that came in.

Im pretty sure I was asleep for an hour because Haley was waking me up gently telling me we have stopped for gas and to eat.

"Thank god. Im famished." I rubbed my sore eyes and threw my hair into a messy bun. Man was I a sight; clad in yoga pants and a hoodie with London embroidered across it. I slipped on some chucks before following her off the bus.

My stomach growled pretty loudly as my nose was filled with the mouth watering aroma of McDonald's, I swear this shit was everywhere! Normally I didnt eat much fast food but I was willing to make an exception. Haley and I put our hoods up and quietly walked inside.

Thankfully a certain blonde boy was not present. I still wasn't ready to see him yet. I know I would eventually have to since it is my job to make them look presentable and I think for the first time in my life I wasnt happy to be doing my job; it angered me how much this boy could effect me like that.

I hadn't even noticed that I was spacing out, jaw clenched with a frown until Haley interrupted my thoughts with a hand in my face, I looked from her to the boy standing behind the register,

"Oh um, can I get the ten piece nuggets and a medium french fry?" I mumbled, embarassed as he nodded silently and typed in my order. He told me the price and I paid the boy before quickly walking away and sitting at a table.

"Are you okay Demi? You looked really mad for a second." Her look of concern made me smile softly at her, I was so grateful to have her as my best friend.

"Im sorry Haley. I was just lost in thought, I have a lot going through my head and it's hard to sort it all out." She gives me a smile back before she sighed,

"I know, and I am still sorry this happened. I should have known.." The way she trails off makes me want to slap myself, of course this isn't the first time. I mean come on, he's a famous musician who, at the snap of his fingers can get whatever he wants. Not to mention he is breathtakingly gorgeous.

At that last thought my heart clenched so painfully that I felt the sadness radiate all the way to my toes and through my fingertips causing my eyes to well up again. I blinked rapidly to get rid of them before she noticed but im sure she did anyways, she just kept quiet.

After we got our food and loaded the buses we talked about random nonsense. Where we were from and what it was like, who our celebrity crushes were, even down to our first kisses.

Girl stuff.

I am happy to admit that it got my mind completely off Luke until we finally pulled into the newest venue for another show. Now the feeling of dread was in full effect. I felt like I wanted to vomit.

"Haley, I can't do this. I can't be around him yet." I saw in her sunglasses how wide my green eyes were and I looked panicked. She grabbed my upper arms and gave me a soft shake, her perfect eyebrows pulled together in a frown.

"No Demi. Listen up, this is your dream, you have worked your ass off to be where you are. Do not let some asshole, womanizing, Australian boy stop you from doing that you love. Go in there, head held high, looking drop dead stunning and show him that what he has done to you will not stop you! You are a strong, beautiful and independent woman!" Her peptalk raised my self esteem and I nodded at her,

"Youre bloody right! That prick is not going to take my happiness away from me! I dont need to waste my time anymore being sad about it! Two days is long enough to wallow in self pity! Lets do this Haley!"

We followed security into the stadium and Haley went with me to set up my things. It didnt take long for me to have outfits set out as well as styling products. She turns to look at me, a slightly guilty look on her face.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow at her and she looked uncomfortable.

"Im going to go see Michael for a second okay? I wont be long I promise." I shook my head at her and rolled my eyes.

"Its okay Haley. Im not going to stop you from seeing your boyfriend. Ill be fine by myself, I have sketches to work on anyways while I wait" She grins and pulls her in for a quick hug before she darts out of the room quickly.

After she leaves I let out a sigh and grab my laptop, I figured since I had time I would email my mum. I missed her terribly.

Mum,

I miss you so much words can't even describe. But please don't worry about me I'm doing great. Everyone here is amazing and I even made a great friend. Her names Haley and you would really like her.

I promise that when we're in London I will come see you and Jordan. How are you feeling? The last time we spoke you told me that you had to go back and see a doctor. Im sorry I haven't written in a while since that was a month ago.

Please tell Jordan I miss her and I love her and give Buddy a kiss on the nose for me. Im sorry mum but I have to go, I have a group of roudy boys to get ready and decent.

I hit send when a knock came at the door. My heart beat sped up; I was extremely nervous who was behind that door.

"C-come in." I stammered and cleared my throat. I watched as the door opened and in popped a head of curls followed by black.

"Hi Demi!" Ashton grinned widely at me as him and Calum sauntered in and plopped down on the couch, one on each side. They had stupid grins on their face and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Hello boys, what can I do for you?" They exchanged mischievous looks before looking at me again, "Youre making me nervous."

"We were wondering if you would come with us, we have to show you something." Calum responded, normally his cute voice would win me over but I didnt trust the look he had in his eyes.

I narrowed mine at him, "Oh really? And what if I dont want to come with you?" Calum rolled his eyes at me and held out a hand to Ashton asking for help.

"Demi we really want to show you something, please come with us." His hazel eyes have turned on the puppy dog charm. I held his gaze, trying to fight it but I couldn't; with an exaggerated sigh and an eye roll I agreed. He grinned and they both pulled me up by my wrists and drug me out of the room.

They pulled me through the halls into the huge emtpy stadium. By now I wasn't sure what I think, "What are we even doing here?" I turned around to ask and I was met with water squirting me in the face.

I shrieked loudly and opened my eyes wide and it was Michael and Haley, both holding water gun, "What the hell?!" I laughed and they smirked before squirting me again, this time I turned around and took off towards the seats. I was met with Ashton and, surprisingly Luke, they all aimed their squirt guns at me and got me. I ran at Ashton and grabbed his gun before turning it on them,

"If you were smart, you would run." I smirked, by this point I was soaked and the thoughts about what had recently taken place we're not a concern. They looked at me with wide eyes and Luke turned and booked it like a dork, arms flailing and screaming.

Unfortunately Ashton wasnt fast enough and I got him in the face. I was laughing so hard now as we chased eachother back and forth around the stadium. Our hours worth of fun was broken apart by security letting us know that we had to get ready.

We had to go out seperate ways and I had enough time to change my clothes and dry my hair when another knock came at my door.

"Come in." I had a smile on my face and when I looked up into the mirror to see who it was my smile dropped and I paled a bit.

Luke.
