You say that it's stupid
You say that I won't make it
You don't think I'm good enough
And you forbade me to pursue it
You want to know why I don't have confidence?
You want to know why I refuse to show you?
Did you ever think that maybe the reason wasn't me?
That maybe the reason was you?
When I finally want to prove to you what I can do
You put me down, You don't even help
You shove it back in my face
You turn and don't even see that I fell
You have then, once again, let me down
You showed me that I don't need, nor want your approval
You don't get to decide my future
You don't even decide if you're a part of it at all
You won't get to be there if I make it
You won't be there if I don't
I'll get there and realize that I did it on my own
And I'll know I didn't need you now, and even then, I won't

So I'm not really sure about this one. Please tell me what your thoughts are about this poem. Any advice would be really appreciated.

PoetryI like to just sit and write poems sometimes. So I just decided I'd put them in a book and see what people think and say about them. Positive or negative comments both help.
