Carly POV

"What did he say?" Edmund asked me as soon as I walked into our office.

"Nothing." he nodded sadly. He knows that finding my son is all I want to do and the stupid investigators I hired haven't found anything. It's like he banished.

"Hey... Look at me... Don't give up. You will find him." he said in a determined voice.

"I won't. Thank you."

" No need." After that we went back to work. The devil is a sneaky fellow and very smart. I got to give him that.

I was between pictures of previous hideouts of the devil when it hit me.
"I'm going to grab something to eat. Want something?" I asked him getting my leather jacket and putting it on.

"No, I'm good."

"Bye." I called out as I close the door. He simply waved at me. Hopping in the car and driving over the speed limit I made it to the building.

"Excuse me, miss. You can't just walk in here." The secretary told me afraid.

"I'm one of the owners." I simply said and pressed the elevator bottom for the 50th floor, the last one. When I walked out of the elevator I had all eyes on me. I was fuming most likely with a red face from how angry I am.

"Good morning Miss Hernandez. It's nice to see you again." my dad's secretary greeted me.

"Morning. Where is my dad?" I asked in one breath.

"In his office with a client." That's all I need I walked over to the door. "You can't go in there." she tried to stop me but it was to late. I was already in the office confirming my suspicions. "I'm sorry, Sir. I tried to stop her."

"It alright, Francesca. I'll take it from here." she nodded and left shutting the door behind her. " Thank you for coming Mr. Salipur." my dad politely told him to leave and he didn't have to be told twice as he practically run out the door.

"How could you?" I asked calmly. To calm if you ask me.

"Can I get a hug first?"

"No. How could you do this to me Dad?" I asked him defeated.

"I had to make sure you didn't find him."

"Why? Why is it so hard for you to let me be happy? All I want is my son and you keep taking him away from me." I took a deep breath. "How many?"

"What?" He asked confused.

"How many of the investigators did you payed off?"

"I don't know." he avoided answering.

"Five? Ten?" He shook his head no. "How many goddammit?" I snapped.

"All 20 of them, well 21 counting Mr. Salipur." he confessed. I was not expecting that. "Sweetie, you need to understand. I did it to protect you." he tried to hug me.

"Don't touch me." I jumped back as if he burned my skin.

"Please."

"I hate you."

"Don't do this honey." he said with tears in his eyes.

"Don't ever speak to me again."I turned around still with wide eyes and a frozen face.

"Princess." he called out just above a whisper.

"Don't call me that. I'm not your princess nor your daughter." I was about to close the door when I turned around to look at him. He looked hopeful.

"Tell Mom the same thing. For all I know I'm an orphan." with that said I slammed the door shut and walked away.
