CHAPTER EIGHT (Part one

Vanessa POV

As we walked down to the beach me and Cruz and I exchanged casual glances through the daggers Cindy was giving Cruz. As we arrived at the beach I inhaled the salty sea scent that floated through the beach. As the waves crushed down one after the other as if in rhythm. I could feel my body freezing up as I realized the danger.

"You ready Vanessa", Cruz said almost smirking at the sudden change of expression in my face.

"Uh... I think we should wait I'm not feeling that grate after all" I said not completely lying.

"Is the little Vanessa scared", Cindy said patronizing me.

"Cindy drop it if she doesn't want to go in don't make her" Cruz said once again defending me like I was a helpless puppy. I was sick of feeling like the outsider it felt as if the water was taunting begging for a challenge and who was I to back down.

"No,I'm not scared of anything in fact watch this", I was unaware of why I was doing this.I had never really had a issue with trying to prove anything to anyone but for some reason I felt as if I had something to prove. I dove into the water swimming out, I wouldn't say I was an Olympic medallist and sure as hell had next to no experience with swimming in the surf but I didn't care. I was soon out in the waves, I could feel myself struggling and through as the muffle of Cruz's voice calling out words I couldn't manage to put together. The waves where strong and powerful, I felt as if I was an acrobat as they swallowed me up and spat me out like I was a rag doll. I soon found myself struggling for air and my lungs burning for oxygen. I tried to yell for help but each wave took every ounce of strength I had left. I soon found myself giving up my brain was still trying to fight but my body was giving in and soon I felt the strong desire to give up and let go. The waves had won this round and close enough everything went blank this was it. This was my ending to a begging i never really had.
