AFTER SCHOOL
Radhika was the first one to pack her bag , slinging it over her shoulder with an aggressive zip that made even Revati flinch.
Madhav as usual taking his time. " Heading out already?" he asked lazily.
"Unlike you , I don't have time to waste," she said coolly not looking back .
"Not wasting time ..." he called out ," just savoring it. "
Baladev narrowed his eyes, "Madhav, you seriously enjoy pain, don't you?"
Madhav shrugged, grabbing his bag. "If pain comes in a pretty package with sharp eyes, maybe I do."
Radhika froze.
Revati snorted. Baladev looked horrified. Chandravali, passing by the doorway, paused briefly----catching Radhika's reaction----but chose to say nothing.
Radhika slowly turned around, calm expression back in place, "You are impossible."
Madhav grinned, "But unforgettable."
Saying this Madhav tugged Baladev by his arm ,"Come on, brother. Let's head home. Someone here seems to be in a real hurry today... unlike me."
"Why do you always remember me when you fuels the fire," Baladev groaned dragging his feet.
"What fire?" Radhika's eyes narrowed. Her voice cut through sharp and suspicious , "Ballu?"
"I... uh..." Baladev looked desperately at Madhav. "We are getting late, right? Madhu?"
Madhav smirked, eyes sliding over to Radhika with maddening calm. "Absolutely. Unlike some people, we are not storming off."
"Oh, will you two just shut up?" Radhika snapped, grabbing Revati's hand. "Let's go."
She strode off, dragging Revati with her-shoulders stiff, jaw clenched.
Behind them, Madhav chuckled under his breath.
Baladev exhaled deeply. "One day, she is going to actually kill you."
