Chapter Two

Phyllis stared at herself in the mirror, taking in her gray eyes with its metallic blue ring around the edge of her irises, down to her lips that were tinted with red. She fisted her thick hair away from her face and suck in a breath through her nose. She was checked in to a three star hotel room, which cost at least a hundred dollars with a client she got from the bar after her show. Her hair fell and framed her face when she took her hands from it and washed it in the sink. She padded her way out of the bathroom towards the bed and saw the man she was with tonight. He was lean, muscular and good looking, like the usual. But what bothered Phyllis was that since earlier that morning, Colin never left her mind, she couldn’t even concentrate on anything.

She could still feel his hands playing her, his heat, the intimacy and the safety he lend her during the night that they shared. Most of all she could still feel all of him in her, the fullness he gave her for that brief moment plugged the hole in her soul. No one gave her that, it was sensational yet it was scary at the same time and Phyllis wasn’t ready to explore it. Hell, if she would be ever ready for it.

The man, his name she couldn’t remember, was sitting in the bed with his back leaning in the headboard and was watching her saunter towards him. He was naked and Phyllis was sure he was also ready for her under those covers in his hips. Before she hit the edge of the bed, she removed the cotton robe provided by the hotel and it fell on the floor. She was naked underneath it and she watched the man’s eyes shift into hunger as he drunk her body in with his gaze. As usual, goose bumps rose from her skin but she ignored it, mainly because she was used to it.

So fucking used to it that she couldn’t feel anything. She wasn’t fired with passion, heck she wasn’t even excited. Yet she felt all of those with Colin, he made her experience those and it was phenomenal.

He shifted and opened the covers for her then she slid in and her night started. It wasn’t right; she knew it and she always felt like it. But that wrong was better than empty. Those men she fucked gave her something to feel, something to enjoy for a few hours and she always gladly used it. She was getting it on with that man but when he touched her, she couldn’t help it but think it didn’t trail fire in her skin. His kisses couldn’t ignite the passion inside her. His manhood couldn’t make her feel full that she could burst into the seams.

It lacked something and it was all Colin’s fault for making her taste something better, something she thought, ‘special’.

She should forget Colin, like what she always do after she fucked them. Colin was just like the other men. That was all that he was to her.

He groaned in her neck as he came and slid out from her. There, it was done. After she caught her breath, she turned to see the man was studying her and so she quirked an eyebrow.

“You are so untouchable.” He mumbled and she dipped her head in the fluffy pillow, not getting what he was talking about. “So cold, you could freeze an ocean.” He continued and Phyllis thought she better get going. She very much wanted to sleep, wash her body, and scrub until her skin was red.

She didn’t speak when she went out of the bed, grabbed her clothes which were piled neatly on the love seat at the corner of the room. She didn’t even look around the room because she knew what to expect. She had been doing this since she was nineteen. It wasn’t even one of the nicest hotels, the robe was 48% cotton for fuck’s sake and the room only had one window, it was almost like a motel. She didn’t care because it was all the same.

“Can’t I pay you to stay?” The man spoke again and she turned to him, shrugging on her gray coat, which fell until her knees. He was propping up with his elbows and was studying her with his brown eyes, which Phyllis noted in a detached way that suited him very well.
