Chapter 21;

I decided to drop the kids off with Tasha , I needed to make this work. For the kids mainly , they needed a family. They deserved one even though I knew I would be the one making the most effort.

I even invited Quadri over so we could talk this out.

Seconds later I heard the doorbell ring. I wasn't even dressed yet , all I had on were sweatpants and a tank top. My hair was also looking messy as hell.

He didn't even speak just barged straight into my house looking around as if he'd never been before.

'So how's it going ?' He asked casually

I rolled my eyes walking into the kitchen as he followed.

'You want anything ?' I asked him

'You got some weed ? I ain't got none on me at the moment , it's back at the trap house.'

I gave him the deadliest glare I could master , this boy would not be getting high in my presence.

Walking back into the living room he followed , sitting down next to me on the couch.

A sense of tension filled the room until Quadri finally broke the silence.

'Baby about the date , I liked it ... Don't worry about Keke she was just an old friend.'

'Yeah I liked it too.' I agreed deciding to forget about the whole Keke thing , hopefully she wouldn't appear again.

'And I was wondering if you would like to do it again sometime.' He asked grabbing hold of my hand.

I looked down as our fingers intertwined 'yeah I want us to do this again , I want to give the kids a real family.'

He laid his head onto my shoulder 'course baby one day.'

'But the thing is...' I moved away from him 'I don't want my babies to grow up into your lifestyle.'

'My lifestyle ? It's what I do to get them clothes.' He stated leaning back.

'You know what I mean. The drugs , the guns and the rest of that shit.'

'Aight I get it , I won't change what I do but ima hide it from the kids.' He said leaning down to kiss me.

I was actually surprised he hadn't noticed the state I was in.
