ARTHUR LEYWIN
"This shitty white armor again," I cursed as I stared at the armor laid out on my bed.
"Sir! You need to put it on now! They're calling the Lances, if you need help in putting it on, we can help you!" The voice behind the door shouted.
"You don't have to, I can do it," I replied and began putting the armor on. With the armon on now, I created a hairband, tied my hair into a messy ponytail, I stared at myself in the mirror, my horns now 12 inches.
I caressed it and then the memory of Sylvia taking care of me popped up. I couldn't help but smile that I have another remembrance of her even though it only took her color.
Then the knocking on the door became furious. "Here I come!" I shouted and opened the door, the maids' eyes darted from my eyes to the horns protruding out of my forehead—I saw the fear that formed within her eyes.
"F-follow me sir," She fidgeted and led the way. 'Sylvie, where are you?'
'I am already here,' Sylvie grumbled. The maid opened the door and there I saw all the Lances. Varay turned to me and met my eyes, I smiled at her direction, and my eyes fell on the white fox on her hands.
I met the other Lances eyes, Bairon nodded in my direction, Aya smirked, Alea didn't want to meet my eyes, Mica looked excited seeing me and Olfred smiled.
I walked towards Varay, "The main character is finally here," Barion noted. I sheepishly scratched my cheek. Mica went towards me and eyed me carefully, "Are you sure you're going to show your horns there?" She asked.
"Yes," I answered. I turned to Varay and smiled—Sylvie looked at me and jumped towards my shoulder, and crawled up to my head. "Is that her favorite spot?" Varay chuckled.
I patted the top of her head, "Yeah it is."
"Generals, you should now enter the portal," The soldier spoke out. We all nodded and walked in the portal. As soon as we entered the portal, strong winds brushed upon my skin, the shouts of Dicathians from below filled my ears.
We stood behind Virion as he gave his speech.
"Many of you have traveled far to be here, and that fills me with pride. As you all may have noticed, standing beside me are your leaders, the very people that have protected this continent as well as the ones that will protect this continent in the future."
Another wave of cheers erupted as Rahdeas, the Glayder family and the Eralith family waved once more.
"However, while these are the heroes you see in the light, there are heroes of the shadows that continuously risk their lives to fight for this continent. I'd like you all to help me welcome the Lances of Dicathen!"
The Lances walked towards the edge of the balcony, their hands on their heart, their eyes blazing with power and loyalty. The cheering of Dicathians grew even louder the moment the Lances came into view.
"LANCE-ES, LANCE-ES, LANCE-ES."
After minutes of continuous chanting, Virion raised a hand, silencing the hundreds of thousands—if not millions—of humans, elves and dwarves alike.
Virion raised a hand, silencing the hundreds of thousands—if not millions—of humans, elves and dwarves alike.
Virion Announced."The Lances have constantly shed blood and tears to keep Dicathen safe, but it is in these uncertain times that we can no longer just rely on the strong. We must fight together in order to keep our homes safe.
"At the inauguration of the Lances almost four years ago, we made a promise saying the title of a lance would not be predetermined by birth or status, but earned through hard work, talent, and strength. Today is the marking of a new era, and with that new era comes new heroes. One such hero has been discovered and is here with us today. Please, welcome with me, our newest lance: Arthur Leywin!"
