Chapter Three: A Beginning...Again

So much for actually looking for Angel's crush...lover...person who she really likes. Finch and I are still in her cottage.

Not like that's a problem, actually, but I have one month. One month! And yet, Finch apparently has to pack all kinds of things, and brew up all kinds of potions. She's working incredibly hard. I'm currently holding two closed vials that are full of some weird, dark pink liquid in the cold stream that runs through her backyard. There's a fat plume of smoke rising from her chimney, and frankly, I don't want to go in there again. When Finch gets cooking/brewing, her house gets hot.

The vials are ready and my hands are numb, so I take them back into the cottage. A red-faced Finch greets me. She snatches the vials and tosses them into a fur lined case. "Stir the second pot, would you?" she asks.

I shrug and stir the bubbly, pale green liquid. This will become a healing salve-useful as an anti-inflammatory. Finch races up to me and pours some chopped green stems into the pot, and calls, "Stir for two minutes!" as she disappears.

The pot to my right disappears, and I know Finch has taken it. She's probably doing the final touches to it; my guess is cooling it off or shaking it. But who knows? That one may go straight into the vial.

Finch grabs the second pot and says, "Okay, please stir the third pot-USE A DIFFERENT SPOON!"

Oops. I was about to use the same spoon. I snatch a random wooden spoon off of the counter and start stirring.

This is going to take a long time...

About an hour later, the potions are all finished. Finch packed everything up. She wrapped each glass vial with cloth and placed it in her case. Her cottage (which is in desperate need of being aired out) has been locked up; the windows sealed and the chimney blocked.

"Anyone who tries to break in will only find a smoky room!" she says cheerfully as she locks the door. Then she tacks a sign to her door. It reads, "Gone. Come back in a month."

"But...what if someone comes a day before you return?" I ask.

Finch sighs. "Okay, okay," she says, and changes the sign to read, "Gone. Will be back soon."

The two of us leave her garden, lock the gate, and head off into the woods.

Now we are going to go...find my sister's nonexistent crush. This just gets better and better...not.

A/N: Hey everybody! I know this chapter is kinda short, and a bit of filler, but I promise that they will actually do something next chapter. Promise.

Stay awesome,
