"So how are you doing?" I ponder on the question for a moment.
I let a sigh escape my parted lips as I say, "Okay, I guess."

My best friend, Bethany, had called me about fifteen minutes ago, eagerly asking me about my new life in Indiana.
"So far, I've found that Indiana is just a bunch of corn fields and boring little towns with nothing interesting to do."
"Sounds amazing." Her voice says through the phone sarcastically.

I spin around in my desk chair as I lean back and rest my legs on my desk, looking at my purple-painted toenails.

"Have you made any new friends?"
I think for a minute, and say, "Some girl came and talked with me for a while at the park and she seemed... Sorta nice."
"Cool. Anyone else?"
I let out another sigh, and lean my head back and stare up at the ceiling.
"His name's Corey."
"Ooh. A boy? Give me all the details!"

I roll my eyes, knowing that this was going to happen. Any time she had seen a boy ever so much as glance at me, she would get all excited. She's absolutely boy crazy. Which is normal for an average teenage girl, I guess.

I remember one time back in middle school when we went to a football game with one of my best guy friends. She kept on getting up from the stands to go to the bath room or get more candy, but I knew she was just trying to get me and my old best guy friend, Aaron, alone together. She had made that pretty clear when she turned around and winked at me right before she left.

It made me kind of annoyed at the time, but now I just laugh at the memory. Aaron had moved that next year, and I haven't seen him since.

"He's just a boy I met, and we've been hanging out a little bit. You can calm down, cause nothing has happened." I say, a laugh sneaking it's way into the end of my sentence.
"Don't you lie to me." She says plainly.
"I'm not. I promise!" I say with another laugh.
"Yeah. Sure." She says.
"So, what does he look like?" She says in her excited voice again.
"I have to go." I respond.
"What? No! You have to give me full details!"
"Bye, Bethany. I'll call you again sometime." I laugh.
"Wait! Katrin-" And with that, I hang up the phone.

I smile at the thought of my boy- crazy best friend, and crawl under the pleasant feeling of cool sheets, ready to pass out for the night. After all, it was a very long night with the bonfire and the adventure through the woods with Corey, which I smile at the thought of before I close my eyes, and drift off.
