Whelp, this is over 4700 words... I guess that's your reward for being patient with me while I ran about like a chicken with it's head cut off and tried to finish out the semester. Today I have procrastinated my research paper all day in order to finish writing this. So I hope you like it! :) Also, read the author's note at the end if you want to creep on my personal life/haven't read all the messages I've sent.

All I'm saying is IT'S STARTING!

"Something's different about you..." William said. He narrowed his eyes as he appraised her, obviously trying very hard to discover what it was that was so blatantly and yet discretely changed about her appearance.

Kristen just giggled a little.

She knew very well what was different. It was the two small crystal studs weighing very heavily in her ears.

She'd tried to get out of it. She'd tried hard. But Emily paid for her while she wasn't looking and gave her no choice. So now she had two little earrings that needed to be twisted twice a day and cleaned out before bed. It was definitely going to take some getting used to, but at least Emily had been right about it not hurting.

"Did you get a haircut?"

She shook her head, smiling bigger.

"Mmph. I didn't think so... new glasses? No- no those are the same ones." He frowned deeply. "Is there something different, or am I just crazy?"

"There's something different," she promised.

William stared at her for close to a minute before he gave up. "Give me a hint."

"'They're attached to the sides of my face," she laughed.

He clapped his hands together and pointed at her, mouth forming a perfect 'O.' "Earrings! That's what it is!"

"You got it," Kristen grinned. "Emily forced me..." she added, nodding over at her friend who was standing nearby examining her new nose piercing in her compact mirror.

"I heard that. You know you like them," Emily shot back at her, not looking up. Kristen stuck her tongue at her. "And I can see that too," she added, shutting the mirror and dropping it back in her purse.

William laughed, rolling his eyes at the two of them. "Well they look nice." Kristen felt herself swell with happiness at the little offhanded compliment. Stupid body and its unconscious reactions.

"Okay, let's go. Aiden's probably there already."

"Oh, that was his name! I told you wrong Em, sorry." They were meeting William's red-head-fancying friend at the café William had taken her to the morning after he'd met her.

"What'd you tell her?" he asked, smirking slightly as they began walking.

"Jacob."

"That's my other friend's name."

"Right."

"Why do you two want me to meet him so bad?" Emily asked, raising an eyebrow. This mysterious guy had been brought up on numerous occasions by now and they both seemed to know something she didn't know.

"I just think you two will get along. Kristen's never met him either." William shrugged easily. Kristen was thankful for his nonchalant attitude because she'd gotten a little tongue tied at the question. She had made a rather big deal out of it. No wonder Emily was getting suspicious.

Kristen kept feeling her phone buzz inside her purse as they walked, probably with a text from Lewis. He'd been texting her nearly constantly for the past week about plans for his visit. She was trying very hard to be as excited as he was, but it was proving difficult. She could only hope she'd brighten up about it when he arrived.
