Kind of a short chapter, but hopefully you enjoy it anyway :) The song on the side is one of my favorite songs so listen to it. It's also a hint. Just sayin'.

Kristen and Emily lay sprawled out on the floor of Kristen’s room with their fashion history textbooks and piles of notes fanned out around them. They’d been quizzing each other on the who, what, and why of fashion’s greats for the better part of the evening in preparation for their midterm the next day.
Kristen thought it was all terribly boring, and seemed like a filler class just to please the parents who would think they were doing something academic. In actuality, it was just a whole lot of memorization.
The subject itself actually would have been interesting, Kristen thought, had it been taught with some semblance of enthusiasm or even with the notion of importance.
In fact, it seemed to be treated with a level of disregard Kristen found quite unappealing in a professor.
“This is so boring,” she whined emphatically, rolling onto her back, her limbs splayed out at odd angles.
Emily tucked her feet under herself, perching on her knees with her textbook across her lap. “At least we don’t have a final though, right? Just that research paper. So after this, we can just breeze through the class only half paying attention and write about whatever topic we choose.”
Kristen just raised an eyebrow at her and sighed heavily. “I don’t want to study anymore. Tell me about your date.”
“I didn’t go on a date,” she frowned. Kristen shot her an ‘are you serious?’ look from upside down, and rolled back onto her stomach, propping herself up on her elbows.
“Oh, come on, Em. You know I’m talking about Aiden. What’d you do?”
As expected, Emily’s face went red in seconds. “Awww, you so like him!” Kristen giggled. “Tell me!”
“We just went to dinner,” she said nonchalantly.
“And… he paid, yes?”
“Well… yeah. But that doesn’t mean anything!” she added quickly. “William pays for you all the time and you aren’t dating.”
“Yeah, but William is an odd boy. He’s the exception to a lot of rules. Where did her take you?”
“He didn’t take me anywhere,” she insisted. “Because it wasn’t a date. We just went to get pizza and walked around for a while.”
“You’re gonna get married.”
“Kristen.”
“Fine. He’s gonna kiss you.”
Emily turned, if possible, a deeper shade of red.
“You are so frustrating.”
Kristen giggled. “Just a little nosy, and a hopeless romantic. Plus you’re gorgeous, sweet, and talented. There’s no reason he should be in love with you.”
“I’ve met him twice,” she said practically. “He’s not in love with me.”
“Never said he was,” she chirped. “But he will be! When are you hanging out next?”
Emily looked as though she wanted nothing more than to say they hadn’t made plans. “Friday,” she mumbled.
Kristen kept her lips pressed tightly together, but smiled as big as her closed mouth allowed.
“Oh, now you’re quiet,” Emily said sarcastically.
“I won’t say I told you so,” Kristen grinned.
