Pearl soon warped into the Temple, hiding the green gem in her shirt.

"Garnet? Steven?" she called out.

"Yo, Progey." someone called from the living room. It was Amethyst.

"Oh. Amethyst. Where are the others?"

"On a mission..."

"STEVEN'S ALONE?!" Pearl looked like she saw a ghost.

"What? No, he's with Garnet." Amethyst answered calmly.

"Better then alone with you, I guess." Pearl muttered under her breath. "You know how much I worry about him!" Pearl gave a nervous laugh.

"Uh, are you ok, dude?" Amethyst raised an eyebrow.

"I'M FINE, AMETHYST!" Pearl yelled. "Sorry, I just need to go into my room for a moment. Don't you DARE go in there!" Pearl walked into her room, and sighs as door closes.

"Woah...ok dude..." Amethyst brushed off what just happened.

~in Pearl's room~

Pearl paced around, making a lot more noise then she should be.

"Okay, okay, you need to calm down, Peri- PEARL! Pearl, calm down, you just have to hide her! You can't bubble her, that's cruel!" She takes the gem out of her shirt and stares at it, worriedly. "What am I gonna do?!"

~outside in the living room~

Amethyst could hear all the noise Pearl was making. She lifted her head up, curious and worried.

"Man, what's up with her?"

~Pearl's room~

"Should I just tell Amethyst? Or wait until Garnet and Steven return? No, I should keep her to myself!" She argued with herself. She set Peridot on the mattress Steven gave her. "THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!"

So frustrated, Pearl gave a small sob.

There was knocking on the Temple door. Amethyst.

"Uh, Pearl, you alright?"

Pearl quickly shoved Peridot's gem under the pillow and opens the door quickly.

"WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT SNEAKING UP ON ME?!" she yelled as tears started to run down her face.

Amethyst stood in front of the door in shock. "Whoa Pearl!"

"You don't understand, Amethyst! All you care about it shattering her gem, isn't it?!"

"Wait, who's gem?"

"PERIDOT'S!"

"What about Peridot?"

"I'll bet she means nothing to you! Am I right? She made one mistake and you want to harm her! ANSWER ME, AM I CORRECT, AMETHYST?!"

Amethyst cowered at Pearl's yelling. "She was my friend from the Kindergarden. I never wanted to tell anyone, and I never wanted to harm her when she turned evil. But it was for the Earth. I never wanna harm her..."

"She told me about that..." Pearl gave a deep sigh. "I'm sorry, Amethyst." She hung her head. "I guess my feelings are pretty strong where she's concerned..."

Amethyst suddenly gasped, causing Pearl's head to shoot up.

"You like her, don'tcha???"

Pearl blushed. "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! NO, I DIDN'T MEAN TH-THOSE KIND OF FEELINGS! THOSE ARE FOR HUMANS! ONLY HUMANS CAN BE IN LOVE- I MEAN, FEEL LOVE!"

Amethyst just smiled evilly in response.

"Amethyst! S-stop being ridiculous! Name one other gem that's been in love- I MEAN, ONE GEM AT ALL, NOT OTHER!" Pearl blushed even harder.

"You like Periii~"

"No-I-DON'T!!! Give an ACCURATE example!"

"Your blushing every time your defending yourself over loving her."

"There's no un-convincing you about this whole lie you've dreamed up, is there? Fine. Name a gem that's ever been in love with anyone else!"

"Greg and Rose, Ruby and Sapphire, Steven and Connie-" Amethyst counted on her fingers.

Pearl clenched her fists. "Whatever! Steven's half-human! Ruby and Sapphire is a fusion. They just like to flaunt it. And Rose... Well, Greg's a human. He fell in love with her. Gems don't do love."

"Ruby and Sapphire still love each other no matter what."

"I! DON'T! LIKE! PERIDOT!" Pearl yelled with a faint smile on her face.

Amethyst smirked. "Sure you don't. Anyways, I'm gonna eat, seeya."

"Uch, eating! You know gems don't need to eat food! It's ridiculous and redundant!" Pearl complained.

"Meh, it feels good having mush passes through my body."

Pearl shivers, stifling vomit. "Anyway, I'm going back to my room. You can tell Garnet about Peridot, but not Steven. Make sure he doesn't find out!"

"Fine with me."
