I'm in a writing mood, omf. Lmao I wrote the rest of this story out btw.

Chapter 56:

Catherine's POV:

I sit down at my counter and lick my lips, the candle light hitting my face.

"Happy birthday to me." I sigh, blowing out the candles.

Yes, it's my birthday; June 24th, 2028.

I'm finally 22 years old, but it doesn't really matter to me. Because, Louis died three days ago. It has been anything but easy.

It hurt, it really hurt.

I hear a small knock on my door and yell, "It's open!"

I hear the door open and close. Wesley gives me a small smile as he steps into my kitchen.

"Happy birthday, princess."

"Thanks, Wes. That means a lot. My friend, Marley should be here soon." I tell him.

He nods, and sits in the chair next to me.

"What's wrong?" I ask, his whole demeanor changed so suddenly.

"My friend, Landon and Lucas died a few nights ago."

My mouth drops open, "Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I lost my best friend, Louis, a few nights ago too."

"What happened to him?" Wesley asks.

"He was murdered." I bite my lip to keep the tears in my eyes. "I suppose I shouldn't really call him my best friend. I mean, he hates me.'

Concern washes over his face, "Why?"

"He chose his other friend over me. I mean, I can't really blame him. I was being a complete bitch. But, his friend...we didn't agree on some stuff."
My lip quivers.

He raises an eyebrow, "What did you think of the guy Louis chose you over? I mean, from your tone, I can't comprehend what you think of him."

"I honestly don't know. Mixed feelings, I guess. He...he makes me so angry yet, so happy."

Wesley smiles slightly, "Did you ever like him?"

"I love him." I admit.

"Hold up there. You love him?"

My cheeks light up bright, "U-Um....no, no. I meant loved."

Wesley laughs, "Why did you stop loving him?"

"I suppose his demons were too strong for his own good."

He looks down, "Oh. Is there any part of you that still loves him?"

I comprehend his question. "Yes. I felt empty when he turned his back on me. I deserved it though, because I turned first." He's about to reply, but a knock disrupts us.

"It's probably Marley." I smile, walking to let her in.

I open the door and let Marley in. "Happy birthday, beautiful."

As we walk in the kitchen, her smile falls as she sees Wesley. But, so does his.

"Well, why don't we have some cake?" I ask, breaking the tension.

As soon as they leave, I call Loki and we head to our room. I open the door and I drop my phone to the ground.

My body starts shaking in fear as Annabelle is sat on my bed.
