Chapter 13

NOAH'S POV

I'm standing in the classroom. They let her out of the hospital and ruled her blind. I made Evelyn stay with her. It's been a week and it's three days before the last day of school. Today is my first day back.

I'm stressed.

"Is she going to stay blind?" Franki whispers.

I'm watching her class.

I told the principal not to give them a sub.

I sigh. "The doctors think so."

She was sleeping when I left.

The door opens and Evelyn walks in.

"I told you-" I cut off when she pulls Anna in with her.

"I tried to tell her no, but she felt her way to the kitchen and threatened me with a knife."
"I'm blind, bitches, I'm not broken."

Evelyn leads her to my desk. I stand up and let her have my chair.

She puts her head down.

"How are you?" I ask.

"Blind." she grumbles.

"How is your head?"

She shrugs.

I feel the bump.

"It's smaller today." I say.

She shrugs.

"Did Tate get arrested?" Franki asks.

"Yes." I sigh. "The judge said no bail."

"How long is he in for?"
"Hopefully life." Anna mutters. "Stupid bastard. I want to push him and take his fucking sight."

"Stop." I say.

"No." she snaps.

"You're not a violent person."
"Noah, shut the fuck up. I'm going to walk down the aisle blind. I'm going to have kids blind. I'm going to fucking die blind. I won't even know what my babies look like. Don't fucking tell me to stop. Shut the fuck up, you big fucking asshole."

I don't say a word. I just keep my mouth shut.

She keeps her head down.

Hardly three seconds later, she says, "I'm sorry."

I sigh and rub her back.
"I know. You're mad at Tate, love, not me."

"I know." she feels her way around until she finds my hand, and then she stands up and hugs me. I hug her back and kiss her head.

She's really upset. I can see it in her face.

She starts to sit, but I stop her because she's about to fall on the floor. I move the chair and then have her sit.

I let the kids watch a movie.

Thunder claps loudly. Annabelle jumps.

It woke her up.

This is so short.
