I was packing for college and Jack was supposed to be helping but he was laying on my bed.
"University of Seattle, huh?" He said, staring at the ceiling.
"Yup. I honestly can't believe I got in." I said.
"I'm proud of you babygirl." He said. I smiled and continued packing.
"I can't believe you decided to not go to college."
"I wanna sing, Mari. I wanna be on stage with Johnson. I wanna have hundreds of fans and be on billboards. It's always been our dream, since we were like 6." He said, sitting up.
"I know Jack, but-"
"No buts. You'll see. I'll make you proud." He said, cutting me off.
"I love you." I said, giving him a quick kiss.
"I love you too." He said, grabbing two suitcases. I grabbed one and I took a quick look at my room and heard my mom honk the horn outside. Jack and I walked outside and put the suitcases in the trunk and I looked at everyone. Bea, Dylan, JJ, Sammy and Skate.
"We're gonna miss you!" Bea said, hugging me.
"I'm gonna miss you more." I said, hugging we back.
"I'm proud of you Mari." Dylan said hugging me after I let go of Bea. I laughed.
"Group hug!" I heard someone say before everyone crowded around. I laughed as they let go. I got into my moms car and Jack came with because he wanted to be one of the last people I saw in Omaha. We arrived at the airport and Jack helped me put my suitcases on the trolley thing.
"I'm so proud of you Marilyn, your dad would of been unbelievably proud," My mom said hugging me. I knew she was holding back tears. "I'm gonna miss you."
"I love you mom. I'm gonna miss you more." I said hugging her tightly.
"I love you sweetie. You better call when you land in Seattle." She said, letting go of me.
"I will, don't worry." I said. I looked at Jack and he had a smile on his face but I could see the sadness in his eyes.
"I'm gonna miss you so much." He said walking towards me.
"I'm gonna miss you, too." I said, pulling him into a hug.
"I'll come visit soon or I'll try." He said.
"I love you." I said. He let go of me and reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box.
"This is a promise ring. I got it when I found out you were leaving. It's so you know I'll be waiting for you. Even if I get really famous, I won't forget you. I love you Marilyn Matthews." He said, putting the ring on my finger. I wrapped my hands around his neck and hugged him tightly. He put his arms around my waist. A few seconds later I loosened the grip and I was looking into his brown eyes. He leaned in and soon out lips met. I heard awes from around us but the only thing on my mind was Jack. Our embrace unlocked and I saw a small group gathered around us making Jack and I laugh.
"I'm gonna miss your laugh." He said, smiling.
"I'm gonna miss your cheesiness." I said, laughing.
"Flight 235 leaving in 1 hour." Said the intercom.
"That's your flight." My mom said. I hugged her one last time until I came to visit.
"Bye." I said, waving at them as I got in line.
"Bye Mari." Jack and my mom waved.
