Song for this chapter: Wasp - Motionless In White
Ricky's POV
I woke up to see Sierra laying next to me, her head lying on my chest, probably feeling my heart beat quicken as I realise how close she is to me. I look down and see that our fingers are entwined and I wonder how that happened because I didn't push her that far.
I smile softly down at her and she groans a bit then looks up at me. "Where you staring at me?" She asked in an adorable morning voice that almost made me melt into the bed.
"Admiring," I corrected her.
She blushed and looked down at her fingers. "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable last night by asking you to stay with me."
"Not at all," I smiled and then remembered what Ash said. I can't lead her on or let her know I like her. I can't be with her. "What are friends for?" I smiled and felt a stabbing pain in my chest. It physically pained me to say that. How can someone I've just met affect me so much? It's probably just a little crush because she's so beautiful. I'll get over it.
She gave me another small smile and climbed out of the bed. "You know it's only 7am right?" She asked. I groaned and smashed my face back into the pillow. "Can I have some cereal please?" She asked.
"But it's 7am," I groaned.
"And I'm hungry. You woke me up!"
"How?" I exclaimed.
"Your heart is so loud!" She exclaimed and fell backwards. At least she's finally acting comfortable with me. "Fine, but can we talk instead of sleep?" She asked sweetly.
"If you want," I sighed and rubbed my eyes.
"Yay!" She clapped her hands like a delighted child and gave me a big smile, her eyes shining. I swear my heart stopped for a moment. She jumped up and skipped around the room. "Your room is really pretty," She turned around, gave me a grin, started skipping around again.
"You're tiring me out just looking at you," I chuckled and put my arm over my eyes. I felt something jump on my stomach and knock the wind out of me. I made an 'umph' noise and took my arm away from my eyes and looked to see Sierra lying across my torso with an innocent grin on her face. "What happened to timid, quiet Sierra?" I chuckled.
"I'm a morning person," She shrugged. "That Sierra will be back by lunch."
"Oh I thought you just weren't acting scared of me anymore," I laughed, but I'm actually very disappointed.
"I was never scared of you, I was just wary. I trusted Ghost straight away because he was just nice and quiet and like me. I trust you now because you didn't take advantage of me last night when you had every opportunity too. You made me feel comfortable and safe. Plus I-" She trailed off.
"You what?" I prompted.
"There's something about you. I don't know what, I don't know why, but I feel like I need to know you, I feel like you need to be in my life and I don't know why, but I do." She mumbled and looked down, her face crimson, but I feel relieved because she feels it too.
I put two fingers under her chin and tilted her head up. I gave her a small smile and whispered, "You're not the only one."
She gave me a hopeful smile. "Really?" She asked in a high pitched voice.
I nodded and gave her a small smile and stared into her beautiful, warm eyes. She started to lean in and I did the same. I know she's just caught up in the moment, but I can't help this. I want this so much.
