Song for this chapter: Relapsing - Beartooth
Sierra's POV
I looked up at Ricky once I'd finished telling the awful story that made me as broken as I am. I don't want to be this way, I didn't choose to be, I didn't ask to be, it's not fair. He had tears in his eyes, but it's almost as if he refused to shed them to stay strong for me.
"M-may I?" He asked as he placed a hand on my shoulder. I sighed and nodded. He carefully pulled down the sleeve to reveal the circular scars on my shoulder. He gasped and pulled me into a hug. I returned his warm embrace, but felt him shift uncomfortably.
"What?" I asked, scared Ash was right and all of this was enough to scare him off.
"N-nothing," He stuttered.
"Ricky what is it? Did I do something?"
"N-no it's just.."
"Just what?"
"I smoke."
"That's fine," I shrugged.
"Are you serious?"
"What? Do you expect me to tell you to stop smoking after knowing you all but a few days?"
"Yeah," He chuckled honestly.
"Ricky I trust you, I know you won't do that to me so I'll get used to you smoking around me don't worry. I've already sat with Ryan while he's had one."
"Thank God," He sighed in relief. "I thought it was going to put you off of me."
"Nothing could put me off you, your friendship is too awesome," I giggled.
His face dropped for a second before he smiled again, not as real as the last one. "Your friendship is too awesome too." I grinned and got on the floor to stroke Midnight. "You really love him huh?"
I nodded. "I've had him since I was thirteen. He's getting old, but he's healthy so I hope he'll last a long time."
"Me too. Can I ask you another question Sie?"
"Ask away," I said, mentally preparing myself for another story.
"Did your Mum and Dad argue a lot?"
I nodded. "My Dad was an alcoholic, but it never got as bad as that. Aidan would always take me and Ash into the garden, he'd sit us on a blanket with our favourite teddies, he'd make us all hold hands and he'd make us promise to ignore everything happening inside, no matter how loud and scary it got, no matter how much we wanted to 'go in and help mummy' or tell them to stop then he'd tell us a story. It was always the same story. It was about two girls who grew up, away from their scary home, and became rockstars. It always made us feel better. It came true for Ash, but not me. He'd be so disappointed in me."
"Sierra no. Don't think like that okay? He would, in no way, be disappointed in you. Anyone would be proud to have a sister like you!"
"No they wouldn't! Who would be proud of a mess like me?"
Ricky's POV
"Everyone! You are in no way a mess Sierra okay? I wish you could see what I see," I sighed.
"What do you see?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I see the most beautiful girl ever who is simply misunderstood and broken, she doesn't think very highly of herself so no one else does ever. She gives off the wrong impression and becomes very independent on people which leads them to believe they have to protect her from everything when she's perfectly capable herself - not that she knows it because she didn't only lead them to believe it, but she lead herself too as well. I see a girl that takes my breath away, literally the most stunning being ever, she's shy when you first meet her, but when you get to know her she's just like a big kid, she's funny, she's adorable, she's smart, she can brighten your day just being around her, she's loveable as hell and there's nothing I can see that someone would dislike about her. I think, she has a habit of choosing the wrong people that give men a bad reputation so she's given up altogether, but I wish that wasn't true because I'd love to show her what it's like to be treated good, treated properly and loved because she's not unloveable, she's neglected and she needs love, but she won't let somebody who really wants to love her, love her."
"Are you trying to say you like me?" She asked, shock dripping from her voice.
I sighed and nodded. "I know what you're gonna say, we barely know each other, it's probably just a little crush and I'll get over it, but I didn't even feel this strongly about Jessica! I don't believe in love at first sight, but I believe there's someone out there for everyone and when you find that person you'll know. I'm sorry if this comes on too strong and I understand if you want to go somewhere else, but I had to tell you and I know we won't be together now or maybe ever, but I just-"
She cut my rambling off by forcefully smashing her lips onto mine. She placed her hands on my face and I wrapped my arms around her waist. She pulled away seconds later, breathless and red. "Sorry," She mumbled.
"I-it's fine," I stammered, surprised and shocked, but happy as hell.
"I don't want to be with you yet because I don't want to ruin what we have. I want to know how I feel about you once we've gotten to know each other better and then I'll know."
I smiled softly. "Why kiss me now then?"
"You looked really adorable when you were rambling on and on and I couldn't help myself," She giggled.
I blushed deeply. "You know you're adorable like all the time right?" I chuckled.
"I've been told," She joked and flipped her hair.
I smiled and looked down at my knees. Her phone beeped and she pulled it out, reading it with a deep frown engraved on her face.
"What's up?" I asked concerned.
She shook her head and put her phone back in her pocket. "Nikki just texted me. Apparently I have to go on Warped Tour with New Years Day."
"We're going," I smiled as I stroked Midnight's head, feeling his tail thump against my leg.
"Really?" She asked, perking up slightly. I nodded. "That's amazing! Will the offer of me coming to stay round whenever I need a break still stand?"
"Of course. If I could get my way, we'd swap you for Chris."
She laughed softly. "Nah Chris is alright. I'll swap you for Ash?"
"Deal," I chuckled and watched her adoringly. Everything she does is just so beautiful in my eyes and I can't think why, I mean yes she is beautiful, but I can't seem to take my eyes off of her.
"Yes!" She exclaimed.
"What?" I chuckled before climbing into bed and yawning.
"Ash said Jaz can come," She grinned and did a little happy dance before diving on top of the bed.
"Calm down, I'm exhausted," I laughed.
"Sorry Ricky," She pouted. "Want me to go somewhere else?"
"No I want you to cuddle me," I whined.
"Yeah and I'm the 'big kid'," She scoffed as she climbed into bed with me.
"You love me," I laughed.
"Eh," She shrugged.
"Bitch," I mumbled and rolled over so I was hovering over her. "Say it."
"No."
"Say it," I moaned.
"Nope," She shook her head.
"I'll tickle you," I threatened. We are big kids.
"You wouldn't," She challenged.
I shrugged and started tickling her sides. "Say it," I taunted.
"Fine," She shrieked and I relented. "I love you, but you're an asshole."
I shrugged and got off of her. "Good enough," I sighed and hugged her close to me. "You're trapped here until I wake up."
"I gathered," She giggled and snuggled in closer to me. "Night asshole."
"Night gorgeous," I mumbled and kissed her temple.
