I went around and checked everyone's costumes. They all looked so great.
Wow, was I really about to direct a play on a story of the Bible?
Maybe I was starting to have a little faith again.
Shadrach passed by and I had to run after him to fix his robe.
"Shadrack! Shadrach!......Shady!"
An hour later we are all standing in the back room ready to come out. I'm kind of scared. I was to introduce my play, I slowly walked to the stage.
"Good Afternoon, everybody." Wow, formal much?
"Thank you everyone for coming out to my presentation of The Fiery Furnace by the children of the Jerusalem Orphanage. I hope you enjoy and...ummm....yeah."
Oh gosh.
I quickly rush off the stage as King Nebuchadnezzar takes his place on his throne.
I leave the room to go to the bathroom, I had been working all day, making props and rehearsing lines and not rehearsing my welcoming speech. Man that sucked.
After I leave the bathroom, I head back but I am stoppped by a hand around my waist. I turn to face Troy.
But its not Troy.
Ravi smiles down at me.
"Miss me?"
I try to wrench myself out of his arms but he holds me tight.
"How did you get out of jail?"
His face falls.
"Isabella, I am so sorry, I was drunk, and I was not thinking. Oh,Isabella, I had drink so much that night. Can you please forgive me? I'm so sorry, you know that right?"
He caresses my face, his face is so genuine and he looks so crestfallen and his accent is cuter than ever. I cant help but smile.
Without thinking about Troy, or the poor orphans performing my play, I let Ravi lead me away.
I go to my room and get my purse then we get in his car and he drives away.
We are in the car for half an hour before I ask where we are going.
"To Jordan, its nearby, I have a friend who lives there."
"Cool."
In a few minutes I'm asleep.
"Isabella, wake up."
"Isabella."
I groan and sit up. We are parked in front of what looks like a house but its too dark, and I almost stumble as we walk towards the house.
"Spare key," Ravi says unlocking the door and closing it behind us.
He leads me upstairs and into the second room on the right.
We lay on the bed, and he looks at me.
"You do forgive me right?"
"Of course," I say.
I snuggle closer to him, then I remember Troy.
I sit up.
"Look, Ravi, We have to get back soon. I shouldnt have even be here. Im such an idiot. I was supposed to be at the play and me and Troy are..."
"You are what?" He looks so innocent.
"We're together." I look down in my lap, though he should be the one feeling bad, not me.
He looks mad at first but says,
"That is okay, after tonight, you will think differently."
He leans in and this time I let him.
