Chapter one: Awakened Lust.

I moaned softly feeling his weight on top of me, it was the most erotic thing I've ever felt. He kissed my neck gripping my hips possessively and wrapping my legs around his waist as he grinds his hard body against my core making me gasp and moan wanting more. I need him closer, I need him inside me.

My mind starts to cloud. No! I don't want to wake up!

"Lexi!"

He feels me start to be pulled away from him back to consciousness and he growls biting into my neck and claiming me. I wake up moaning as I try and catch my breath.

"Lexi, are you okay?" I hear as my best friend and roommate, Katie, comes running into my room.

"Yea.." I try to say but it comes out as a whisper. I clear my throat.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just, I had a... Umm.. Dream I suppose.. It felt so real.."

I can't believe it. Two years after I turned of mating age I finally find my mate and its a freaking dream.

"That must of been some dream then hun. You scared the heck out of me."

"I'm sorry." I say blushing like mad. I wonder if my mate felt what I did too? Was all I could think as I laid back down staring at the roof. Katie laid beside me, I think she sensed my pain.

Ever since the first grade Katie has been my best and only friend. She has saved me and protected me through my whole life.

"Are you sure your okay? You know we can talk about it hun." She says in effort to comfort me.

"I just always thought the fates would give me comfort by giving me a mate with our community. To have someone that will make me feel whole."

"I know, I hoped for the same thing for us both.. But we have to trust that fate knows best and happiness is just around the corner hun." She said with a sigh as we both stare at the ceiling longing for the day we find our mates.

We are both part of the Silver Moon pack. Our mothers were best friends and when my parents died I was adopted by hers. Her father was my father's beta, so he took over as alpha of our pack. The whole pack hoped that when I turned of age I'd be mated to Katie's older brother Alex. I was not though. This angered him and created a feud between us, him knowing I was the only thing standing between him and becoming alpha. When I find my mate he will have a claim to the title of alpha and me Luna of the pack. I don't want to be Luna though. I just want to spend a long and happy life with my other half.

The Silver Moon pack is centred around a town where we all live as a self reliant colony of sorts. There are no humans, just werewolves. The town is surrounded by a mass of mountains and forest that keeps us isolated and safe. The only downfall is that with isolation comes the problem of finding your mate. One out of five members of the pack are mated to a non-pack member, and as fate has it both Katie and I are mateless. In our society you come of age at 18 and that's when your scent will begin to call out to your mate and once you smell your mate' scent you begin your first heat. In our werewolf community sex between non-mated wolves is forbidden and punishable by exile. Leaving both Katie and I virgins at the age of 19. Having a mate from outside the pact scares for if my mate is not a virgin I am forbidden to mate with him and must reject him.

These laws may seem strict and aren't followed by many pacts today but they are passed down to us by the legendary bloodline of our elders. We choose to embrace the old ways an keep the memory of the great Pure Bloods alive. It's legend that their wolves were stronger in every aspect due to the thinning of our bloodlines. Wolves cannot reproduce without their mate, but due to infidelity the bond between mates becomes weaker. Which limits the powers you and your mate develop based upon the strength of your bond. For fully mated wolves to have sex with a wolf other than their mate is almost unheard of but when It happens the bond dies completely and your inner wolf will separate from you; leaving you unable to shift.

Sticking to the old laws of our nature has kept our pact pure and more powerful than any other pact.

"When should we leave?" Asks Katie pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Now that we know for sure are mates are not within the pact we must go search for them. I can't sit by any longer and chance that he develops urges for another."

With our wolves so strongly drawn to our mates based on the purity of our blood mates are so dependant on each other we don't develop sex drives until we enter our first heat.

That's why the dreams I having scare me. I've never had urges like this before.

"We must go soon. I can't bare this agony. I want my mate." Katie's plea saddens me. She deserves happiness.

"We'll leave tomorrow morning." I don't know what caused my wolf to make me say that, but I trust her. I can feel the pride she has over our trust for each other. I just pray my wolf can lead me to my mate.
