"Shubman ji, ye lijiye aapka tiffin aur bottle." Ishan kept the lunch box and bottle near Shubman's office bag on the table.
(Shubman ji, here is your tiffin and bottle)
Shubman, who was fastening his wristwatch, looked up and smiled warmly at Ishan. "Thank you, Ishu."
Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan-Gill, married for 6 months. They had an arranged marriage, but their mutual love, respect, and understanding often confused people... was it really an arranged one?
Though the husbands never paid any heed to what people think and say. No matter what, relatives always have something to say.
Shubman and Ishan live with Shubman's parents and sister in a simple yet beautiful two-storey house in Chandigarh. Shubman is a professor at a college, and Ishan... well, Ishan used to work before marriage. Shubman's family is orthodox. Before marriage, they didn't say anything about work, but after that, they demanded that Ishan leave his job. He should be a homemaker.
Shubman, on the other hand, was totally against it. He protested his parents' demand and actually had a huge fight with his parents, but none backed down. His parents even blamed Ishan for their fight.
Ishan, the soft-speaking and kind-hearted angel, could never see himself as a reason for the family's dispute. So, he talked with Shubman and pleaded with him to stop his fight with his parents. He assured Shubman that he would be happy being a homemaker. Shubman reluctantly agreed, but he still feels guilty that Ishan has to sacrifice so many things for him and his family.
Every day, Shubman thanks Waheguru ji for giving him an angel, his husband, Ishan. Shubman was always hesitant about marrying. He knew whoever his partner would be had to endure taunts and jeers from his family. His parents were never happy with him. No matter what he achieves, they will always taunt him for more. His sister, though younger, would also throw jibes at him. Even now, when he is a professor and earns a respectable amount, they all still demand more. So, it was no surprise when Ishan also got taunted every day by his family. But Shubman is saving his money and has looked for 2BHK flats, so that he can move there with Ishan as soon as possible.
"Ishan", Shubman softly called and moved close to where Ishan was standing near the table. He lifted his hands and slowly cupped Ishan's face.
"Ishan, bas kuch samay aur, phir sab thik ho jayega. Apna khayal rakhna," Shubman gave Ishan a solemn smile and leaned forward to place a lingering kiss on his husband's forehead.
(Ishan, just some more time, then everything will be fine. Take care of yourself)
Ishan gave him a soft smile, "Shubman ji, aap araam se jaiye, meri chinta mat kijiye."
(Shubman ji, you go with peace of mind, don't worry about me)
Shubman returned his smile and then laced his hand with Ishan's. On the other hand, Shubman took his bag and together they moved downstairs to the living room. His parents and sister were sitting there on the sofa. His mother first saw them and rolled her eyes.
"Ishan. Agar iss raja ki saari khidmat ho gayi ho, toh hume aaj naasta mil jayega?", Mrs.Gill taunted.
(Ishan. If this king's every demand is served, then we will get breakfast today?)
