".. And behind this impenetrable glass is the recently discovered, and only known existing copy of the Archamada Book of Spells."
Gwen, in all her know-it-all fashion, doesn't miss a beat in joining the tour guide with her speech. She even turns to Max, [name], and Ben, sticking up a finger and closing her eyes as she quietly follows along. "It contains ancient witchcraft and rituals from the late sixteen hundreds."
"Maybe you should work here, dear."
"Don't let mummy-face get to you," Ben offers with a quiet snicker, leaning into Gwen, "she's probably older than that spell book." For further consolation, he crosses his arms over his chest like a mummy and makes a petrified expression.
Whatever amusement he's bringing the three is quickly cut short when a rumbling shakes the building and all the occupants inside, lifting everything not fixed to the floor (people included) to the ceiling.
Red smoke phases through the skylight window, falling until it circles around the book of spells and materializes into an odd-looking man. His skin was a pale enough to look a faint purple and the three lines running along his lips made his face look like a skeleton.
He circles it silently as he observes the book, finger grazing the glass as though anything heavier than a feather-like touch would crush it into a thousand and one pieces.
"The Archamada.." Mumbling quietly to himself, he turns one of the wooden charms on his collar and stops moving when he's at the front of the display case. "Fah-Cah-Me-Doof!"
The charm glows a bright yellow through its carved symbols, activating and shattering the glass. When free, the book levitates closer to him, landing in his hands before he flips through to check of condition of the pages.
Ben taps the button just below the dial on the Omnitrix, twisting through his selection of heroes until the man stomps his staff on the ground and sends everyone falling to the ground. Without much choice, he slams his hand down on who he last cycled to and the room flashes green.
XLR8 hits the ground running when everyone is halfway between the ceiling and the floor, skating to a tapestry on the wall that he ties around four columns. Once a few are done bouncing and are stumbling their way down, he points to the closest exit and hisses a quick "everyone, out!"
Once a good portion of the tour and workers are gone, Ben slides up beside [name] and gives her an expectant look. "You got anything for this guy?"
"I can do possession, super-strength, speed, technology, anything with water— I don't know what told you I know anything about magic."
"You're like my.. alien encyclopedia! Why wouldn't I think that?"
"He's human, totally, fully, human. Magic exists here, too, you just need a.."
[name] points at the book in the man's hands and Ben readies himself for a fight as she helps more people come down from the tapestry and leave the building.
As his visor drops along his face, Ben speeds towards the wizard. He tries to make a quip about getting a book from the library instead, but it's cut off when the man turns to him and raises his staff. A different charm lights up as he recites "Bethi-Mordor-Natta," and flames erupt from the skull of the staff, setting the tapestry ablaze as Max gets the last person off.
Ben runs himself up and around the walls to avoid the fire as the man aims after him. Eventually, the flames turn into red crystals that fire out rapidly. They let out a blinding light that sends Ben slipping into a cabinet when he begins charging at him.
