        *Three days later*

Yeah, Miller and I have gotten closer over the past three days. He is a pretty great guy, except he always seems distant. I can never tell why. But anyways, I finally got the leg-cast from hell off yesterday which was awesome. And today I get to go on my first mission since the injury.

Rachel was nervous that I was going to be afraid to go back out. I can tell Seth and Miller are nervous. I am hoping with everything that I have that they will not go all 'overprotective tough guy on me'. I don't think that Seth would do that, he doesn't seem to think as highly of me as Miller does. I DO think Miller is going to try to save me, like I saved him, and end up getting himself hurt for absolutely no reason.

As we gear up I turn to Miller, "Miller, promise me you will only watch your own back. I can watch mine." He looks at me, "No promises, Aldaine." He smirks and I frown. "Seriously, Don't do anything stupid." I sass, as I put on my helmet and grab a shotgun and pulse rifle. He keeps smirking and turns away as I step onto the ship. "He is way too protective of her." I hear Rachel whisper to Seth as I silently sit behind them. "Come on, Rachel, I am just as protective of you." He says and kisses her cheek. I walk up to the controls, "Are we going soon?" I ask Rachel. "Yup. As soon as your boyfriend gets on the ship." She says. I don't know where the sudden bitch came from, but I respond as nice as I can. "He isn't my boyfriend... Thanks for the polite answer by the way." I mutter and walk away. Seth comes back and sits next to me, "I'm sorry about her." He says, "I am not really sure what is up with her lately." He adds and I nod, "I'm sorry too." I say. He stands back up and Rachel instantly starts blabbing again. Suddenly she annoys me. A lot.

A little bit later, I find myself fighting off more of Them on Mars. This mission is different though, we have to find the power source for all of their heavy weapons and destroy it. Which is proving to be difficult considering there are bombs being sent towards us every few moments. We have to keep moving. There is nowhere to rest. I know what you might be thinking, why the hell am I rushing the story of this mission?

Mainly it is because I don't want to remember it. Neither does Seth. You are going to have to know though, so let me sum it up for you.

Miller got hurt. Not severe enough for death, but he needed to go back to the ship.

The Ones heavy weapons tracked Miller back to the ship.

The ship was blown up, with Rachel and Miller on it.

"I lost connection to the ship...." Seth says. "I did too. It was probably nothing though, Like last time." I respond, "We need to finish this, we are almost there." I add. He nods, and after a few moments we shut down the base.

That is when the emergency signals from the ship set in. Seth doesn't hesitate and begins to sprint towards the ship. I feel my heart drop down into my stomach as I follow him. He reaches the top of the hill and yells, "RACHEL?!!" I go to the top of the hill and see Seth running towards the flames, "Seth! Stop!" I yell and sprint down to him, grabbing his arm before he can reach the pile of rubble and Flames. The ship that takes the fallen Keepers back to the Realm has already arrived and is looking for them, I'm sure of it.

I turn Seth away from the ship. Yes, I liked Miller a lot. The tears I had to hold in were overwhelming me. But Seth loved Rachel. I'm not sure how long he had but he did. He removed his helmet and I saw anger in his eyes. I took my helmet off, my hair and face a sweaty mess from running so much. "Seth, I'm so sor...." He cuts me off, "We should have come back when the signal cut out! WHY did I listen to you?! You are a lower rank then me and I was in charge!" He keeps yelling at me while I watch them pull Miller from the rubble.

The tears fall from my eyes uncontrollably as I fall to my knees, sobbing. Staring at Millers lifeless body being dragged from ashes. They close the ship and leave, I know they will send backup for us but I still feel helpless. I notice Seth had stopped yelling and turned around. He watched what I watched, and just stood there emotionless. He turned to me and pulled me up into a hug, "I'm sorry I yelled." He says, realizing that we probably did the right thing by not going back and watching everything happen, then dying ourselves. I keep sobbing for a moment, then I stop. "The ship is here." I say, emotionless. I can't let anyone see me weak right now. Even Seth. We walk onto the ship and just sit there. Dirt and ashes cover my armor and my vision is blurry from everything in the air.

I sit there on the ship. Replaying Miller being lifted from the ashes. They must have found Rachel before we got there. Seth cries quietly next to me, "I couldn't save her." He says, I grab his hand. "This isn't your fault." I say. Besides me, I have never seen a Keeper lose their cool like that before. But it makes sense. He starts shaking and sobbing, then wraps his arms around me. I start crying too. I can see the Keeper who is piloting the ship giving sympathetic looks to us. I put my head on Seths shoulder. I normally don't just lose control of my emotions and need another person there. But right now I do.

I'm so sorry this is really short.
I packed in the feels though.

Yeah, I hope I didn't piss anyone off by killing Rachel and Miller. I just needed to do something dramatic :)

I will post again shortly, and I am beginning a new story as well soon!
