Miller
As Seth and I stand there in the Generals office, I feel my heart drop at the things he is telling me to do. "Sir! I can't just leave her there alone!" I yell, losing my patience. "Miller, you and I both know why you need to. That girl is even more powerful than her father and we need to see what exactly it is she can do. Magic isn't supposed to work on me. I have a chip that rejects magic, that was to protect me from rogues. But she could throw me across this room with ease." He says.
"Miller.. I hate to say it. But the General is right." Seth says, I turn to him, shock in my eyes. "How could you say that Seth? She could die! Magic takes energy, and if she is fighting that many of Them she would be drained." I retort. "We don't know for sure that would happen, yes it will make her more tired but I don't know if it is possible for her to be drained." He says.
"I will do it." Seth says. I shoot him a pleading look and he replies by mouthing 'Sorry' I let my head drop. "She will hate me." I say. "She will hate all of us!" I yell. "But we need to test this Miller." The General says. "Fine. But if she gets hurt..." I trail off. "She will not be harmed. The mission is on earth, so we can reach her quickly." The General replies and I storm out of his office, Seth runs after me yelling about being sorry.
I get back to the apartment and throw the door open, barely missing Cat. "Jeez Miller, I heard footsteps and I figured it might be you..." She trails off, "Are you ok?" She asks grabbing my hands. I smile, wishing I could tell her. "Yep, Seth and I went to go check on my armor for tomorrow." I lie. "Oh, ok." She says, I avert my eyes so she can't read my real thoughts. I go sit on the couch as she makes coffee and Seth disappears into his room. Then we all wait for tomorrow.
Cat
I wake up in the morning and get up quickly. I change into clothes to go under my armor and walk outside of my room. Seth and Miller are standing there with the General and a guy with a syringe. "Hey guys, what's going on?" I ask. "Cat. I am so sorry," Miller says as the guy with the needle walks over and injects a blue liquid into my arm. "Guys, what is happening...." I trail off as I fall to the ground asleep.
When I wake up I feel that I am on a ship. I can tell I am still on Earth when I look on the front screen. I stand and look around. When I realize I am alone, I panic and stand up. I have my armor on and my gun sits on the seat next to me. So I know that someone sent me here on purpose. Anger replaces some of the fear.
The ship begins to land and I see ones scattering the ground around me. Once the ship gets closer to the ground it becomes noticed and I jump out, floating to the ground out of sight. The Ones start screaming as the ship lands without me and I become noticed. "Shit..." I mutter.
I am terrified, no, beyond that. I am so scared I am almost at the point of breaking. Why would anyone do this to me if they actually cared about me. Why did Miller apologize? Was this up to him? I let out a scream of anger.
I send out an initial blast, killing most of the Ones in my current sight. Rubble of buildings surround me and I know that I will have to figure out which one it the base without having anyone. I notice more armored Ones running out towards me and I shoot them down. Anger begins taking over me and my fighting gets sloppy. One of Them picks me up and throws me into a building. I fly through a glass window and when I fall to the ground I feel a large piece of glass go into the back of my armor.
Something on my foot starts beeping and flashing red. I take it off and smash it on the ground. Then I use the telekinesis I have I pull the glass out, screaming as I do but ignoring the pain as I leave the building.
