How Did This Happen?

Chapter 1

Meredith's POV
I woke up and saw this guy sleeping on the floor. I threw a pillow at his ass and said,"Hey you gotta go and I'm gonna go hop in the shower."
"Oh hey I'll come with you." He replied.
"Um..." I stuttered.
"Derek." He said.
"Meredith." I said, "Ok so Derek we aren't gonna do that thing where you offer to make breakfast or whatever. I'm running late and when I get out of the shower you better be gone." I said. I went upstairs got into the shower and when I came back down Derek was gone so I left and went to the hospital. Today is my first day as a surgical intern. I got there with a little bit of the Chief's speech left, I mean I kinda personally know the Chief because he and my mother had an affair and then my mom left my dad for the Chief but the Chief stayed with his wife so. Anyway I got into the surgical locker room and saw some of the interns from the mixer last night and then an Asian intern, her name is Cristina, said,"Who do you have I have the Nazi."
"So do I" three other interns said at the same time and I noticed Alex Karev. We are really good friends and have been since we were kids and I moved from Seattle to Boston. Alex and I waved at each other. We both grew up in bad child hood homes. His dad was a drunk who abused him and his mother I really have no I idea about her and my mother was always gone and whenever she was home she would yell at me about what I was doing wrong. So Alex and I became friends and bonded over crappy childhoods. So as we found our resident Alex and caught up and we decided that Alex was going to move in with me and be my new roommate. As we were walking down the halls I heard,"Hey Grey!" I turn around and see my older brother Mark. I ran and hugged him and said,"What are you doing here?!"
"I got a job as the head of Plastic Surgery and Derek Shepard you know the roommate from college best friend." I nodded,"He is the new head of Neurosurgery." I just stared at him and hugged him again. Then Alex came over he and Mark shook hands and then Mark left. When we found out resident again we just followed the group and the other interns asked,"Was that Mark Sloan?"
"Yeah he's my brother or technically half brother I guess." I told them. They just stared at me with mouths open but Alex just stood by my side.

I got my first case and saw Derek the guy I slept with last night I cut over to the staircase and he followed me and said,"Well if it isn't Meredith...." He looked at my card and said,"Grey. Meredith Grey."
I just nodded and said,"And if it isn't Derek Shepard?"
"Yeah that's me. Why you sound worried?" He replied.
"Do you know Mark Sloan?" I asked.
"Yeah of course he's my best friend why?" Derek asked me.
"He's my overprotective brother." I said.
He stared at me with wide eyes and said,"Oh my god. You're the mysterious sister. The sister Mark is always talking about. And the one he is so overprotective over."
"Yeah the one and only." I said. He just stared at me and didn't say anything. Then all of a sudden Mark came into the entrance to the staircase saw us and said,"Hey you guys already met! My best friend and my sister! Hey we should all go out for dinner tonight!" We both just nodded and didn't want Mark to know something was up or else he would find out and if he ever finds out I slept with Derek he will punch Derek's lights out.
LATER THAT NIGHT
So we went out to dinner and it was kinda awkward. Mark was just saying how much he was glad that he and I were working at the same hospital and how he wants me and Derek to hangout together.

During dinner I excused myself and went to the bathroom I was in there for ten minutes and Derek came to check on me and said,"Hey Mark was getting worried about you. And I just want to let you know I won't tell Mark that we slept together because I know how overprotective he is of you because well Mark had a party and this guy was talking about you and said some pretty nasty things. Mark got all posed and punched the guy and we all thought Mark was gonna kill him. But after Mark got off him he kicked everyone out." I just stared at him in disbelief. He just nodded we got back to dinner and finished and had dessert. Then we all went home. I got home and saw Alex there he was drinking tequila and I took the bottle and just downed the try of it. Alex and I drank another bottle of tequila before falling asleep on the couch.

When we both woke up in the morning we had horrible hangovers. Then all of a sudden Mark bursts through the the door and yells, "Good morning guys!"
"Mark shut the hell up!" I yell then all of a sudden Derek comes in behind him looking embarrassed because of Mark I mean who wouldn't be. Then I run to the bathroom and puke. I feel someone holding back my hair I turn around and see Alex holding my hair and rubbing my back. I say,"Thanks Alex. I mean it I don't know what I would do without you."
"Me either but you would do the same for me." He chuckled. We sat in the bathroom for 10 minutes joking around until Mark came in and said,"Are you done it's like 12:30." We both just sighed and walked down the stairs I saw Derek there and said,"Alex this is Derek. Derek this is Alex." They just shook hands and Alex and I went to eat something. After lunch Alex and k watched some tv and that's when I realized that Mark and Derek were here. I ran up the stairs and found Mark asleep and then I went into my room and found Derek asleep in my bed he just started to stir and said,"Sorry. Mark said I should just sleep in here."
"That's alright." I said as I lied down next to Derek on the bed.

Derek POV
Meredith and I both fell asleep in her bedroom and I woke hearing Mark saying,"Should we wake them I think we should." Then that Alex guy said,"No don't Mer was really tired but wake your friend if you want to." I then realized my arm was around Meredith and then I said,"You know I can hear perfectly fine."
"Good your awake now get off the bed and let's go make something to eat!" Mark said. Then I said,"Shh Meredith is still sleeping."
"Right." He said quietly I just covered her up and went downstairs with Mark to eat something while Alex went to his room.

Mark, Alex, and I were watching tv when we heard Meredith coming down the stairs. She came down the stairs very slowly and we all looked at her when she was at the bottom of the stairs and she looked really pale. Then she ran into the kitchen and threw up in the sink. I ran right after her and held her hair back.  After she was done throwing up I saw that Alex and Mark were right behind me as I wiped Meredith's mouth and gave her water.
