How Did This Happen?

Chapter 5

Derek POV
I was thinking about my patients when Meredith walked in and said,"Oh god I'm so tired!"
"Why don't you lay down on the couch." I said. She just nodded and laid down on the couch and started to fall asleep. I then climbed on the couch with Mer and we both fell asleep. I woke up by falling of the couch with Mer on top of me and we both bursts out laughing. I then got up and helped Meredith off the floor. I know we had a doctors appointment coming up for our baby pretty soon Meredith is about a month along. Then Meredith said,"I should be getting back to Dr. Robbins."
"Or I could have you come into surgery with me and remove a brain tumor." I said kissing her.
"Yeah maybe." She replied. I stated to kiss her neck and then said,"So you want in?" She nodded and I said,"Okay let's go then."
"Was that because of this morning?" She asked.
I smirked and said,"Maybe." She just giggled and we went to get the patient prepped for surgery. Meredith and I both got the patient and brought him to the OR he has a massive tumor on the right side of his brain. Once he was in the OR Meredith and I scrubbed in. I then kissed her on the cheek and said,"See you in there." She nodded and walked into the OR I then followed her in and said,"Okay it's a great day to save lives." Everyone watched as I made the first cut into the skull.

After I closed up I sighed a sigh of relief and said,"I'm so glad we got the whole tumor I wasn't sure if we would."
"You're right Dr. Shepherd." She said. I just smirked at her and said,"I know I'm right Dr. Grey." She then blushed and kissed me. She then walked out of the scrub room with me following and she stopped and all of a sudden I looked up and saw a woman standing there glaring at Meredith. "Is something wrong Meredith?" I asked.
"My mother is staring at us." She said. I look and see Ellis Grey staring at us and I walk up to her and say,"Hi I am Derek Shepherd."
She just looks at me and says,"Whatever. Meredith get over here." She quickly runs over and Ellis says, "Mark called me and said you were in trouble what did you do?"

"Nothing I am just pregnant." She tells her.

"You are pregnant! How could you be so reckless! I thought you were the smart one!" Ellis told her.
