"Jace is my... what?"  I glanced at Jace, wondering if our night in the greenhouse was replaying in his mind like it was in mine. We'd talked, we'd held hands. Siblings didn't do that.

Thunderous footsteps interrupted Valentine's next comment. Luke's pack stormed in. Valentine's guards came running behind, and everything broke out into battle.

Alec, Jace, and Isabelle spread across the room to take on the guards while the werewolves cleared the way for Simon and me to get Jocelyn to the exit. Since she was asleep, Luke came along to help carry her through.

There was lots of stabbing and fighting, and Alec did arrows and Isabelle did whip and Jace did cool jumps. For a moment, it seemed like Valentine would win but then the werewolves stopped him, and we won.

"Run!" I screamed. Luke's pack heaved my mom over their heads, and we all ran to Luke's car with Valentine's followers chasing after us. They ran almost as fast as werewolves, and I made the mistake of looking behind us. I tripped over a rock, and the mortal cup fell from where I'd shoved it under my shirt. It bounced against the pavement a few times before rolling down the street.

"The mortal cup!" Valentine pointed. "Get it!"

"Clary!" Simon turned back and reached a hand to help me up, but I waved him urgently away.

"The cup, Simon!"

Simon nodded and shouted to Isabelle. She ran ahead and scooped it up. I pushed off the ground and continued running. Thankfully, with the cup in Isabelle's more capable hands, Valentine was no longer after me.

We threw ourselves into the car, with me and Simon in the front seat, the Shadowhunters in the back, the werewolf pack in the trunk, and my mom strapped to the roof. Luke hit the gas, and we sped away until even the Shadowhunters couldn't keep up.

Luke pulled to a stop in a Dunkin Donuts, and everyone got out. I brought my mom to the ground to get a good look at her.

"Mom?" I asked. I hit her lightly across the face like they do in movies. She didn't wake up.

"Looks like magic," Luke said. He kneeled beside me on the ground. The group had gone in to get donuts, and the only ones still outside were him and Simon. And Jace, keeping his distance alongside the car.

"Valentine said she did this to herself," I said. "That means there has to be a way to undo it. Right?"

Luke nodded. "Years ago, Jocelyn told me that Dragon Juice was the key. This must have been what she meant. Do you know where she could have kept it?"

I remembered something, just earlier today. "There's been a bottle of Motts Apple-Grape juice in the fridge since before I was born." I pointed a shaky finger. "Jace drank it."

Jace must have been listening. From his pocket, he pulled out the half-empty bottle. "It tasted good. I brought the rest with me."

Luke held my mom's head up while I poured the rest of the bottle into her mouth. She slowly swallowed it. Her face twitched, and she sputtered awake.

"Luke?" Jocelyn's eyes found me. "Clary!" She shot up and latched onto me in a hug. "Are you alright?" She pulled back and examined me. "How much do you know?"

"I know everything, mom." Now that I knew she was alive, I realized how upset I was about all the secrets she'd kept my whole life. But there wasn't any time to think about that when Isabelle rushed from the building with Alec slumped on her shoulder.

"Guys," she called. "I think Alec got stabbed."
