The next morning, I waited for everyone to leave for work so I didn't have to face anyone. I was embarrassed from the actions that I chose to make the night before and didn't want someone to make any sort of remark.

The house was empty and kind of creepy when you were the only one in it, but at least it was light out and no one would bother me, hopefully.I grabbed a bowl from the cupboard and place it on the island in the middle of my kitchen. The clank sound vibrated the granite slab and filled the house with a buzz. Then a new sound rang. The jingle of my dog's collar. "Hey Rupert!" I knelt to the floor and patted my dog. He is the laziest Bloodhound you will ever meet. His ears drag across the floor as he scurries back toward Scott's room where he lives.

I took out the milk and spoon, but when it came on deciding what cereal to eat, I had a problem choosing. I finally dumped Cocoa Stones in my bowl. I chomped away, realizing that I should hurry to the market for the food for this week so I could spend the rest of my day preparing for my picture.

I pranced to my room after eating cereal and brushing my teeth to get my jean jacket. The outfit I chose to wear was laid back so I didn't need to fix myself up again for the photo. The red tank top I wore flowed as I ran around making sure I had everything. I put on black combat boots with black leggings since it was fall and quite chilly out.

The market was only 2 blocks away from my house which was convenient since I had to go there every Saturday when I was little and still do.

I began grabbing everything my family wrote down on the shopping list. I saw that my dad and Scott didn't need anything since their handwriting wasn't on the list. Mom wanted most of the average food that she would use for our meals this week, while Fiona wanted junk. I knew to get her everything she wanted because last time I didn't get her chips, she screamed and my mom and dad sided with her.

At the corner of my eye, I saw a glimpse of dark-golden blonde hair. The curls were held together with hairspray or else her hair would get really frizzy. I snuck up behind her and smacked my shopping cart into her's. She jumped at the impact. "Hey! Next time watch where you're going and..." She stopped mid-sentence as she saw my face.

"And what?" I asked teasingly.

"Cass!" She squeezed me, giving me a big hug. When he pulled back she glared at me. "Why would you do that? You gave me a bit of a fright!"

I laughed. "Sorry Grace, I saw the chance and took it." I loved teasing her. Grace was one of my best friends and also Scott's girlfriend. Grace is a Three and I would think my mom would care, but she doesn't since she knows that wouldn't bring down Scott's rank and also she was once a Three before she married my dad.

"So why aren't you getting ready for the Selection picture?" Grace interrogated. "You're doing it, right?"

"Of course I am, but chores first." I made a fake smile. She knew how my life was since I text her all the time. She always helps me with my problems.

"Are you signing up?"

"Of course not!" Grace shrieked. "I have my own prince!"

"Who?" I asked. I knew she would take it seriously and start ranting on and on.

"Scott, silly!" She smirked. "I have David in the car so I need to check out before he gets bored." I waved goodbye.

I quickly grabbed all the items on the list and purchased them. I rushed home and stumbled upon big, clompy shoes. That's when I knew Kyle was here. Kyle was Annabelle's secret boyfriend. The only person that doesn't know about their relationship is mom. Kyle is a Four so mom would not except Annabelle blowing off being a Two and choose being a Four, well if they ever got married. Kyle comes over the house whenever he has time off and mom has work. Most of the time they just are in Annabelle's room making out.
