//Olivia//

After the support group ended there was a table with some cookies and snacks on it and people were eating and talking. I planned on just leaving but then I remembered that my mom drove me and I had to text her to come pick me up.

I kinda just stood around awkwardly. Everyone else was already socializing and I didn't want to interrupt anything. Besides, I was too shy to talk to them anyway. I caught Michael looking at me a couple times and I'm glad he wasn't coming over to try to talk to me.

I was scanning the room and I saw one girl who was still sitting in one of the chairs in the circle. She had long, dark, curly hair and she was really short. I went over to her and sat down in a chair next to her.

"Hey, I'm Olivia. What was your name again?" I asked since I had forgotten her name from when we were introducing ourselves. She looked to be a couple years younger than me.

"Hi, I'm Tess," she replied with a small smile in a quiet voice.

"Is this your first time coming here?" I asked trying to start I conversation with her.

"Yeah, how about you?"

"Me too. I didn't want to come in the first place but I'm actually glad I did." I said while giving her a smile.

"Same here. It's nice not to feel like the only one in the room who's going through this. This is the first time in a while that I haven't felt like a total freak," she replied letting out a gentle laugh.

I was having a nice conversation with Tess and getting to know her when Michael came out of nowhere and interrupted.

"Hey, sorry but can I talk to Olivia for a second?" Michael said to Tess and she got up and walked over to the table. I felt bad that he had done that to her and I wanted to apologize for him.

"What do you want, Michael?" I hissed at him. I usually wouldn't have talking to him in such a rude tone but I was pissed that he had just interrupted us like that.

"I'm sorry for just barging in on your conversation like that but I wanted to get a chance to talk to you," he apologized sounding sincere.

"Okay, fine. What did you want to talk to me about?" I said trying not to sound as annoyed anymore.

"Well I just didn't expect to see you here."

"I didn't expect to see you either. And if you tell anyone at school that you saw me here I will kill you," I said sternly, not that i probably came off as 'intimidating' to Michael Clifford anyway.

"I promise I won't. I wouldn't do something like that to you."

"Yeah sure," I said sarcastically with a little laugh. Michael's face remained serious and then I realized he meant what he said. It was so weird to be seeing this side of him that I never knew existed. I questioned to myself weather or not I really knew the real Michael Clifford.

"Listen, my mom is here. I gotta go. Just because we saw each other here doesn't mean we're best friends now," I said after getting a text message from my mom saying she was there. I didn't mean to sound harsh but I meant what I said.

I left the building after waving goodbye to Tess and got in my mom's car.

"How was it, Sweetie?" My mom asked as we pulled out of the parking lot.

"I hate to admit it, mom, but I think you were right about this being a good thing for me. I really like it there." I said to my mom. I was having mixed emotions about seeing Michael there but I really enjoyed the rest of it.

"I'm really glad, Olivia," my mom said with a beaming smile.
