On Monday morning I woke up to the sound of the alarm I set on my phone. Ugh, 6:00 in the morning. I ignored my alarm and laid in bed for about ten more minutes before actually getting up. I went about my school morning as usual: washing my face, brushing my teeth, getting dressed etc...
When I was done getting ready I went downstairs to say good morning to my parents before they left for work and I left for school. I was pretty mad at them on Friday but I didn't hold a grudge against them for long.
After greeting my parents I poured myself a cup of coffee into my favorite mug and say down at the table where my mom and dad were drinking their coffee. I sat there going through my phone while my parents talked until it was time for my to leave. I said bye to my parents before leaving my house to walk to school.
The walk wasn't long but it felt longer now that it's getting colder. I guess a lot of people wouldn't think it's very cold but for North Carolina it is. Despite the fact that I was wearing a sweater, I was shivering by the time I got to school. I went inside, glad that it was warmer in there. I saw some of my friends in the hallway but walked passed without making eye contact with any of them. I went over to where my locker was and saw Michael laughing and talking with his friends across the hall. It seems like they always got to school early but were late for all of their classes.
I debated weather I should walk over to Michael or wait for him to come over here. I didn't have to think about it very long before Michael came walking over to me.
"Hey, Mikey," I said with a bubbly smile as he walked over toward me.
"Hey," he said returning the smile. Once he was standing in front of where I was I grabbed his hand and laid a soft kiss on his cheek. I him blush slightly in response.
"Aren't you worried that one of your friends will see you?" Michael asked, but not in a cold way like before when he got upset with me.
"No, I don't care. They're not really my friends anyway," I explained. Michael nodded understandably. I looked over at Michael's friends and saw that they were laughing at him. He looked over in their direction and mouthed the words "shut up" but he let out a small laugh as well.
"Are you worried that your friends will see you?" I asked jokingly. Michael shook his head and laughed.
We got to class afterwards and I didn't see Michael for the rear of the school day. I would usually have support group today but I got an email saying it was cancelled because the facilities were being used for something else today.
I made my way back home. I wasn't quite as cold now as it as earlier in the day so I was happy about that. When I got back to my house I went in my room and put on some more comfy clothes. I changed from my skirt to some leggings and left my shirt the same.
I was working on my homework listening to music through my ear buds when I got a text from Michael.
Mikey: come outside
I didn't respond to the text but instead I got up and peeked the the blinds on my bedroom window to see Michael leaning against his motorcycle. I wasn't sure why he was here but I did as the text said and went outside to see him, grabbing a light jacket on my way.
"Michael, group was canceled today," I informed him as I walked toward his direction.
"I know," was his response.
"Then what are you doing here?" I asked letting out a giggle.
"Because I wanted to see you, is there something wrong with that?"
