Y/n just walks into her house and sees her stepfather standing there with a furious expression. She gulps. Her stepfather is not an ideal character. He is extremely ab_usive. He be_ats her and her mother every day.

Y/n is an 18-year-old high school student. Her exam is coming soon, so she stayed late at the library to study. It's past nine now.

Stepfather: Where were you?

He says, gritting his teeth.

Y/n: I was at the Library.

Stepfather: You think I am a fool, you sl_ut. Stay so l_ate at night. You were with a m_an.

Y/n and her mother look at him in h_orror. He is about to h_it Y/n when her mother comes between and the r_od h_its her head. She f_alls on the ground, and he starts to b_eat her until she lies in a p_ool of bl_ood. From afar, Y/n can tell she is d_ead. Y/n looks at the sc_ene in h_orror. Her stepfather is looking at her like a m_aniac. She tries to run away, but he gr_abs her hair and p_ushes her to the ground. He is looking at her holding the bl_ood-drenched r_od. He takes a step closer, and Y/n scoots backwards in f_ear until her back h_its the wall. He raises the r_od. Y/n closes her eyes, and that's when it happens. Suddenly, she smells sm_oke. When she opens her eyes, the whole house is ca_ught in a fi_re. Her father tries to esc_ape. But the fi_re is so bad that there is no esc_ape. And then something falls on him, and a l_oud sc_ream is heard. Y/n stands up. She doesn't understand how the house catches on fi_re so intensely, so fast. She doesn't know how to escape. She starts to cough. Her vi_sion starts to get blurry. That's when she notices a figure approaching her. Before she passes out, the person takes her in his arms. The last thing she sees is an angelic face.

She wakes up coughing. She is lying outside of the house. The paramedic is giving her first aid, and a few meters away, a policeman is standing with a man ha_ndcuffed. It's the very same person who saved her life. The guy looks like he is also a teenager or just turned 20. His eyes are unreadable.

Y/n: No....leave him....

She screams. But the nurses hold her tight. The police escort him into the car and drive away. She again loses her co_nsciousness.

Six years later
