I was born into a world with a woman and a man. A man I call my father and a woman I supposedly call my mom. She feed me, she nurtured me for only a short time. I remember when she was looking at me and started to cry and next thing I know I was on my dad's door step and he was crying. It was raining and he picked me up and put me in his arms. I felt safe. That man that was there for me was my dad. I still look up to him till this very day only if my mom was ever in my life I would be good.

I remember when I was a year old and my dad came and picked me up from my grandmother house. I thank her too cause she taught me all the ways of being a woman and how to respect yourself and how men should respect you.

My dad came to me and smiled.

"Niece, hey daddy baby, " I heard him say and I looked up and crawled to him. I smiled at him and laughed.

"Aww hey momma's you miss daddy, " he said as he kissed my cheek and I slobbed on his cheek. He laughed and took me home with his girlfriend in the car. She also taught me how to be a woman. I loved being around her cause she was so comfortable with me. I remember when my dad had to go to work and she was watching me. She played with me, watched cartoon with me and fed me. It was fun and I like being around her. I would say she was more of a mom than my real mother ever was.

I was walking home with my friends Bernalise and Tiana. We met each other in fourth grade and been friends ever since.

"Did you see what Chris had on? " Bernalise said as she blushed.

"Yes he looked so cute ugh, only if he was mine, " Tiana said. I laughed these girls are ridiculous . All they do is talk about guys.

"So what we doing today girls, " I asked them.

"We was going to have movie night at my house, " Bernalise said as she looked through her phone.

"Sounds good I'll tell my dad, " I said and they looked at me.

"Your dad is so damn cute shit, if I was his age I'll be your step mother, " Tiana said and I laughed. She had the biggest crush on my dad for some reason. My dad was mad young. He was only 32 and his girlfriend was 30. When we got to my house my dad was in the kitchen with his friend Dennis. Dennis was a good friend to my dad and they work together. I walked in to the kitchen and ran to my dad.

"hey daddy, " I said as I jumped on him. He smiled and hugged me.

"Hey daddy's little girl, how was school? " he asked me.

"It was good, I was wondering could I sleep over Bernalise house she's having movie night, " I asked him as Bernalise and Tiana came in the kitchen.

"Please Mr. Collins we will be on our best behavior and nothing will happen, " they both said and my dad smiled.

"Sure but you have to call me when you get there and when you go to bed, " he said kissing my forehead.

"Thank you daddy and I will, "I said as I hugged him and went to my room to get clothes.

When I was done packing we went to Bernalise house. She was going to invite Chris, Derrick and Bryson. They believe I like Bryson but we we're just friends. When they get to her house I was already in my pajamas. I wasn't going to stay watching the movie too long since it was a scary movie. Chris went to Tiana, Derrick went to Bernalise and Bryson followed me into the kitchen.

"Hey, " he said as he sat next to me as I ate gummy bears.

"Hi, " I said as I hugged him and he hugged me back.

"Why you not in there? " he asked.

"They're watching a scary movie and I don't watch them, " I said and he nodded.

"Well how about you go for a walk with me maybe that can take your mind off things," he said and I agreed. There was nothing else better to do so why not.

As we walk he kept making me laugh.

"So tell me something I don't know about you, " he said and I smiled.

"Well, I grew up with my dad, " I said and he looked at me.

"You serious? I mean I grew up mostly with my mom but my parents are separated," he said.

"I'm serious, I don't have that much memory of my mom so my dad is all I know for right now, " I said.

"Well you don't deserve that, just if you need anyone by your side or anything let me know I got your back, " he said and I hugged him.

"Ok I'll do that and thank you, " I said and we hugged.

We returned and the guys were gone. The girls too. Them bitches ditched me. Well, time to go back home. Bryson dropped me off home and I went to sleep. When I came in I heard my dad on the phone with someone.

"Why do you even bother....?!"

"She's in good hands she doesn't want to see you or the baby that's on the way, now please stop calling! " he yelled and jumped when he saw me.

"Hey sweetie, what happen to the sleepover? " he asked scratching his head.

"I wanted to come home... Who was you on the phone with?? " I asked him.

"Oh... Nobody important. It was an old friend. Don't worry go get some rest you going shopping with your step mom for baby clothes for your baby sister, " he told me and I hugged him and went to my room. Ever since than I had to wonder.

Was that my mom.... The one the left me high and dry? Nah, it ain't her. I'm just reacting. She ain't never want me so I'm just gonna chill and be there for my family.
