Chapter 20
I woke up and felt a loud pounding inside my head. It was the first time that I felt like this and it felt like someone was hammering my head. I looked around and saw a room that was almost identical to my hotel room, except that there were two beds instead of one.
On the other bed lay Bryan and Kian. Why were they in the same bed? Oh right, I was in the other.
I instantly remembered what happened last night. I wanted to piss Brian off so I drank the strongest alcohol the bar had. What was the name again? Evergreen? No. Maybe it was Everclear? Yeah, Everclear alright.
I went outside the room without making a sound. Both of the guys looked cute cuddling in a single bed together. I mentally laughed at their image. Right after I carefully closed the door behind me, I saw Nicky walking the hallway. "Why did you come out of Bryan and Kian's room?" he asked right away.
"I got drunk last night," I inquired. "I passed out then Bryan brought me here,"
"Why didn't he just find the key to your room?"
"I guess he couldn't find it," I shrugged. Why was Nicky asking these questions? "I placed the key inside my shoe,"
"You're insane," he chuckled.
"I am," I admitted.
"Want to go grab breakfast together?"
"If you insist,"
"I insist," he said and we walked together to the direction of the hotel's restaurant. "Hangover?"
"Yes," I massaged my forehead.
"Rate it,"
"Up to?"
"Ten,"
"Twelve," I answered. I wasn't exaggerating, it really was that painful. I swore that I would never ever drink again, not even wine.
"That bad?" I nodded. "We need to get you some coffee,"
When we arrived at the hotel's restaurant, Nicky immediately ordered two coffees and a special meal for the both of us. "Please make mine black," I told the waitress who was definitely eyeing Nicky. Right after she left, I informed the Westlife member, "She was definitely checking you out,"
"Really?" he raised an eyebrow at me. "How'd you know?"
"I'm a girl, I know things,"
"You're a girl?"
"Hey!" I whined. "That's not nice!"
"Relax," he chuckled at my reaction. "It's just a joke,"
"You're going to pay for this, Byrne," I fake threatened. "Nobody messes with me,"
"I'm pretty sure of that, Green,"
The waitress returned with our meals. Maybe the food was already cooked that's why it was this fast. I took a sip of my coffee as I listened to the waitress's attempt of seducing Nicky. She opened a few buttons of her uniform revealing half of her chest. "Do you want something else?" she leaned in so Nicky could get a better view of what she got. But unluckily for her, Nicky didn't even spare her a glance.
"Nothing else, thanks for that," Nicky said with his accent that was far thicker than mine.
"Are you sure?" the waitress attempted again.
"I'm pretty sure about that," with a disappointed look on her face, she left. I laughed at how dense Nicky could get. "What's so funny?"
"That waitress is totally hitting on you!" I said. "You should have given her a chance,"
"I don't want attempts like that," he explained. "It's not very appealing,"
"So you do know that she unbuttoned her uniform for you!"
"Of course," he laughed too. "I'm not that dumb,"
"I thought you were,"
"Are you mocking me this time?"
"And what if I am, Byrne?"
"And I guess we're even," he gave me a cheeky smile and I couldn't help but return that smile as I started to eat my food.
Nicky and I talked about a lot of things, about my life, his life, and everything in general. After an hour, the lads went down and joined us. "I've been looking for you!" Bryan exclaimed right when he saw me. "I thought you left or something,"
"And where would I go then?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I don't know," he shrugged. "Back to Ireland, I guess?"
"That's a hassle, and I don't have enough money to afford a flight from here to there," I answered. The lads connected all the tables so we were having a feast altogether.
"Really?" Shane asked. "Bryan was panicking earlier."
"Yeah," Brian Litrell, a Backstreet Boys member, agreed. "He woke all of us up with his complaining,"
"He yelled to the whole world, 'Where's Rain? She went back to Ireland! Oh no!'" Kevin mimicked with crazy actions. Everybody laughed after that.
"Be warned of the waitress," I said. "She likes to flirt,"
"Too late for that now," AJ Mclean, another member of the opposite band, said.
"She's hot!" Howie Dorough commented, again, another member. "How'd you know that she's a flirt? Is she lesbian?"
"No," I laughed. "She flirted with Nicky,"
"What the hell, man?!" AJ complained to Nicky. "You should have slapped that ass," that earned another laugh from all of us.
"She's going to take our orders now," Kian pointed out.
"You didn't answer the question, Nicky!" Howie yelled.
"Want to know the answer why?" he asked and everybody nodded, including me. Then he looked at me straight into my eyes. "It's because I like somebody else."
