"Come on Koori it's just one stupid boy, you don't have to make such a big deal out of it. So what if he doesn't act like he'll throw himself off a cliff for you. You can have any boy in the school why worry over him?" Shanelle said, trying her best to comfort me, but it didn't work. She kept going on and on about how pretty and perfect I was and to not worry about the brain dead new kid, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. I wasn't thinking about him in a nice way if that's what your thinking. In my head I was cussing him out.
I thought a little more on what Shanelle had said and decided she was right. It was just one stupid boy out of the whole entire school. Why should I worry about the new kid. I mean it's just one boy. I looked away from my reflection in the spotless mirror and told Shanelle she was right,"He is just one boy why should I even think about him." I said turning back to the mirror adding another layer of gold eyeshadow.
We were about to head out for a party at Zack's, the main football star, house. His parents were out of town for three days, and he was dedicated to make them the best three days of senior history, throwing a party each night. When I finished with my makeup I took one last long glance at myself and stood up, letting Shanelle sit down to fix her makeup. I headed for my walk in closet full of designer clothes and picked out my favorite party dress. A blue knee length, tight, gold trimmed, one of a kind dress. My mom was a fasion designer so I had a lot of one of a kind outfits.
I slipped the silk dress on and looked in the mirror. The dress fit me perfectly and made my eyes stand out like no other. I flashed my perfect white teeth, grabbed my gold heels, and walked back to my room. Shanelle had just finished curling her blonde hair and was slipping on a tight pink dress. I sat on my king size bed and put my shoes on. I found myself thinking about the boy again, which really made me mad. I shook my head and focused on the party. Zack and Drake were picking me and Shanelle up personally at six. I stole a quick glance at my pink alarm clock and saw it was 5:30.
I hurried and combed through my already straightened hair and sprayed some hairspray over it. I looked at Shanelle and saw she was slipping on her heels, but otherwise ready to go. "I'll meet you down stairs." I called heading out of my room and to the elevator. Yes I have an elevator in my house. I pressed the ground floor button and watched as the doors closed.
When I reached the ground floor I walked out and plopped down on our black leather couch. I let my thoughts drop back to the new kid, Conner I think his name was. He had shaggy, but not long, brown hair, jewel green eyes that looked up at you through long lashes that suited him perfect, a small explosion of light freckles marched across his nose. His features were smooth and welcoming all blending together in a picture of perfection.
He wore ragged jeans, old sneakers, and v-neck t's to school topping off his skater look. I let out a small sigh just thinking about him. Wait. Why do I care about the stupid new kid that wouldn't give me the time of day? I gathered my thoughts just as a horn blared outside. Shanelle came running into the room squeling "They're here, they're here!" over and over again. Normally I would be doing the same but my thoughts were somewhere else.
We walked out to the car and hopped in the back seats. The boys had the music blaring and were attempting to sing along.They turned down the music and we all talked and joked the whole way to Zach's house. All thoughts of Conner should've left my mind as soon as I saw Zack, I mean I've only had a crush on the guy since tenth grade. They should've, but they didn't.
