Conner's POV
My eyes fluttered open soundlessly. I was laying in a small bed. A patched blanket Lu over me. Where am I? I thought. Sitting up I saw a black notebook on my nightstand. Reaching over I plucked it from the small wooden nightstand it sat on. There was a yellow sticky note on the front. It said: Your name is Conner. You have short term memories. These are your memories. Then it hit me. I didn't know my name. I didn't know how old I was. I didn't even know who my parents were!
I had a small panic attack but took a few small breaths and it all melted away. I probably went through the same thing every morning. I just didn't remember. Flipping open the notebook I read the first page. It said: You probably don't remember anything right now. This notebook, and others, have everything you need to know or remember about your life. Remember dream big and dare to fall( your favorite quote by Norman Vaughan.)
Reading that I felt setting swell inside me, a feeling of happiness and belonging. I turned the page and furrowed my brow in confusion. All of the pages seemed to have been ripped out. The notebook was almost completely empty. Except for one page. It simply said: You are head over heels in love with Kori.
Kori's POV
Conner didn't come to school that day. I was disappointed. I had a million things to talk to him about. Like how I was completely in love with him, for example. The day seemed to go by in the blink of an eye. The whole time I sat there wondering where he was.
When school was over I hurried so fast to get to my car I didn't notice I had gone out the wrong door. I turned to go back onside but noticed something shoved in the corner of the walls. Curiosity took over me and I slowly made my way over to the pile. Crouching down by it I saw that it was a pile of papers.
Picking them up I read through them as I walked back onto the school. They all had dates at the top and what happened during the school day recorded in neat writing. Then I came to one page, close to the end. I read over it three times nearly dropping the papers in shock and surprise. What was written was what had happened to Conner in the lunch room. And at the bottom was written: Don't trust Kori.
Then it clicked. These were the pages from Conner'a notebook. But why had he written them? And why were they shoved in a corner in the back of the school?
