THIRD PERSON POV.
"Ajax! Come on!" yelled a girl with firey red hair that was literally on fire.
"Wait up Phoenix!" a boy with brown hair, golden blonde tips and had a blue tint covering his entire hair responded.
The girl called Phoenix didn't slow down as she ran through the ruins of New York, her brother trailing behind her by about 50 feet.
She climbed onto the hood of an abandoned car before making her way over it and flipping off of it landing perfectly on the other side before continuing to run.
"Show off!" the brother exclaimed as he climbed over the car much like she had but instead just simply jumped down.
"Rock brain!" she exclaimed back.
"Air Fart!"
"Towel boy!" she insulted back as she came to a stop in a dark and trash littered ally way.
"Why do you always win our name wars?!" Ajax grumbled as he walked up next to his sister's side.
"Because, I'm better then you," she replied.
"Ya, ya, keep telling yourself that," he chuckled back.
The sister rolled her eyes and started digging through trashcans and junk trying to find something useful that anyone in the hideout could use.
"I have half a generator," Ajax said after 10 minutes of shuffling through the junk.
"Good, Mom needs more parts, I found an old Dell laptop," Phoenix answered.
She took the field backpack she had off her back and unzipped it.
"Why did Aunt A have to give you the enchanted Mary Poppens bag?" Ajax complained.
"Because, like I said before, I'm better then you," she smirked.
"And your brat mode has officially turned on!" Ajax responded.
The girl rolled her eyes at her brother as she packed the things she had found into her bag before closing it and putting back on her back.
"Let's get back to the hideout," Ajax suggest as he felt a pit grow in his stomach.
Phoenix looked up at her brother from her kneeling position, whenever her brother got a bad feeling it meant something bad was going to happen.
She nodded and stood up meanwhile swinging the backpack back over her shoulder.
The two ran once more through the ruins of New York before reaching the now abandoned Central Station.
They went down into the empty subway which once held and transported hoards of people.
They walked through the dark tunnels for about a mile before they reached a steel door Ajax opened the door for his sister and they both stepped in quickly closing the door behind them cramming them in a small broom closet of sorts.
"State your name and outside identity," a voice that sounded much like Jarvis said.
Ajax stepped up first but before speaking took off his mask.
"Andrew Steven Stark Rogers, aka Ajax out in the field," he spoke in a stern and strong voice letting his hair lose its blue tint.
Next his sister.
"Toni Virginia Stark Rogers, aka Phoenix," she responded meanwhile pulling down the baklava which covered her face up to her mid nose and let put her fire hair out, now relieving the black dyed tips that lined the bottom of her red red.
There was the sound of locks clicking unlocked and gears turning before the wall in front of them swung open giving them access to the hiding place of the underground rebellion/ blackmarket.
They climbed down the stairs into the blackmarket below them and walked through the crowded aisles full of people and vendors.
The twins weaved through the crowd until they reached the other side of the very large room where a makeshift elevator stood.
The two stepped into the makeshift wooden elevator before Andrew pressed grabbed the rope and started pulling on it making them slowly move up. Toni put her hand next to her brother's and pulled too making the 3 story trek up easier.
When they got to the top they locked the elevator in place and stepped off of it and walked into the makeshift house/lookout that looked over the blackmarket.
"MOM!!!" Toni shouted as she walked into the house, "WE'RE HOME!"
"IN THE WORKSHOP!" came the reply.
Toni looked to Andrew before they both headed down the hall and to the workshop where their mom was working on something.
The two peaked in before stepping into the room.
The room was littered with piles of grey and silver machine parts and tools for these parts, the biggest thing in the room was a circular machine that was about 10 feet tall and was shaped like a donut, only the center was bigger then usual.
In front of the machine was a woman with dark brown hair that was down to her mid-back which was pulled back in a loose low ponytail and she wore a black cotton shirt and black khaki pants. Her back was turned to the twins and she was bent into the donut hole of the machine.
"Mom?" Andrew asked upon seeing the woman.
The woman pulled herself out of the donut and looked back at the two and smiled at the sight of them.
Her chin had a faded scar that reached from the top of her chin to her mid right cheek, and she had another more visible scar that ran parallel to her left eyebrow. Her light blue eyes were filled with exhaustion and pain from all the years she had lived under Loki's rule. In the middle of her high upper chest glowed a blue arc reactor, half of it covered by the U neckline of the t-shirt she was wearing.
This was Taylor James Stark, and she had been through hell since we had last seen her.
"Andrew! Toni! Perfect!" the woman smiled, before turning back to the machine, "my blowtorch broke! Toni can you come over here and give me a light at about 550 degrees kelvin?" she asked.
Toni nodded and walked over to her mother who picked up a piece of curved metal and set it over a part where the inside of the donut was exposed.
Toni snapped her fingers twice before a flame started on the tip of her index finger because she made a gun shape with her hands using her thumb as the trigger of sorts and the tip of her index finger as the front of the barrel, but instead of a bullet coming out a line of fire came out much like it would come out from a blow torch.
Yes, Toni was a mutant, as was her brother, they were what the rebel's liked to call them, the Elemental twins aka the Ajax and the Phoenix, mostly because each of them was like half an avatar. Toni could control fire and air while Andrew controlled earth and water, and I have to say they made a really really good team.
Taylor took her daughter's hand by the wrist lightly and slowly traced the outline of the metal letting it metal and become apart of the donut.
"Mom what is this?" Andrew asked as Taylor finished melting the pieces of metal together.
Taylor stood up, whipping the grease off her face with the back of her hand.
She looked between Toni and Andrew with pain in her eyes before speaking, "It's a time machine, and you two are going to use it to save the world."
