Third person pov.

That night Toni and Andrew shared a room with two separate queen size beds that were placed next to each other. It looked very much like a hotel room.

Andrew laid peacefully asleep, not even turning or tossing, Toni was nothing like that.

She tossed and she turned, flailing and kicking her legs around.

She was having a nightmare.

(Nightmare/Memory)

Toni ran through the ruins of New York, following both her brother and father, and she trailed them a good ten or twenty yards.

Her hair was on fire like it always was when she went out and a glowing smile covered her face, she felt.... free. Nothing could bring her down... she was wrong.

The group of three had just past the crumbling Empire State building when they were ambushed.

Chitari surrounded them and pushed them back to back, forming a circle around a triangle.

The chitari grumbled in their alien language to one another their guns raised and pointed at the trio. One of them even seemed to be communicating with someone over some phone like thing.

James looked to his two children, his gut tightening, something bad was going to happen. And something bad did happen.

Loki appeared in front of James smirking causing the red haired boy to jump back a little.

"Loki," he hissed at the demigod.

"Good to see you to James," the trickster smirked back before noticing the two teens behind the second generation super-soldier, "And who are these kids?"

"You don't need to know and you won't," James snapped at him.

Toni looked to her brother in fear and he looked back at her, worry in his eyes.

"What do you want Loki? You already took the Earth along with your villain buddies. You killed my parents and the other avengers! What more do you want?!" James fumed.

"What more do I want?" The trickster chuckled, "I want the last spark of the Avenger's hope to be snuffed out! I want not even a glimmer to exist in this new world I've built! And you and your friends, along with your children threaten that! You bring hope! And I can't have that."

James knew what would come next, "Kids... get out of here," he spoke his eyes never leaving Loki's cold, hard glare.

"What! No way!" Andrew protested.

"I said go!" James snapped flinging his head towards his children, that was his mistake.

Loki took this chance to fire a burst of energy at the second generation super solider causing red to stain the clothes encircling his gut.  Blood.

The life slowly died from James eyes as he looked up at his children then fell to the ground.

"DAD!!!!!" Toni screamed as she watched her father hit the cement pavement, "NOO!!!"

-Now-

"NOO!!!!" Toni screamed as she bolted up in her bed terrified from the dream she had just had.

Andrew bolted awake at the sound of his sister's screams and jumped out of his bed and ran over to his sister's side.

"Toni... it's alright... it's ok, it's just a nightmare," he stated softly as he pulled her into a hug.

It was at that moment the door to the room was thrown open and Tony Stark came running in.

The reason why Tony had ran over was because the twins were staying in the guest room on his floor of the tower because for some reason Tony thought, 'The twins ought to stick together!' And he was the only avenger with room for the two of them. He had ran over because he felt some sort of connection to these kids.

"What happened?" the billionaire demanded as he saw the scene before him.

"It's nothing... I just had a nightmare," Toni spoke softly with a light tremble that could be heard in her voice.

"PTSD?" the genius asked raising an eyebrow.

"What? What is that?" Andrew asked. The term had become non existent in their time period, everyone had flash backs and nightmares that it was no longer a disorder, it was just normal.

Tony raised an eyebrow at the twins before answering, "Post traumatic stress disorder, you know, when something bad like a major event happens to you and you have flashbacks, nightmares, and sometimes panic attacks for a while after the event happens," he explained.

"Oh...." Toni mumbled and she brought her knees to her chest.

"Where we come from... this happens to everyone... It's a normal thing to us," Andrew explained to the older man.

Tony's face turned into a frown. These kids were dealing with things that he didn't even know about or could imagine, and he had seen a lot of things in his time as Iron Man.

"You know... everyone in this tower has PTSD too. So don't feel bad about it... Heck! I think our psychiatries have their own psychiatries!" Tony joked.

Toni smiled a little at this, as did Andrew.

"And kid, we're all here for you. If what you say is true about Loki managing to take over capture all of us, you just prevented all of that. You have our trust, and trust me, that's a good thing to have on your side," Tony explained and smiled lightly at the twins.

Andrew and Toni looked at each other before nodding and looking back to their Grandfather.

"Thanks," Andrew stated.

Tony gave a nod at them before he walked out of the room closing the door behind him. These kids, they were important, and he was pretty sure that they had stolen a piece of his heart much like Taylor and Pepper had.
