(Ezra pov)

Early the next morning, when Emma and I had decided to meet, I leave the Ghost and hop on my airspeeder before anyone else was awake. We have to meet early today, because Emma has to go back to the Academy. When I reach our meeting spot, Emma's there waiting for me, looking distressed.

"Em, what's wrong?" I ask, concerned, dismounting my speeder.

She looks at me. "Ezra, I'm no longer a Cadet at the Academy."

"Em, that's great! So why are you so sad?" I ask.

"Because I'm something worse now. Remember how I told you about those tests my parents made me take?"

I nod.

"Well, they were testing for Force-sensitivity. I have a really high midiclorian count, Ezra. And now apparently I have to become an Inquisitor's apprentice, whatever that is."

I gasp. "Emma, do you know who the Inquisitor is?"

She nods. "A little. He's a Pau'uan, but his name, I have no idea. I didn't receive much information."

The Inquisitor. "Oh no. Emma, listen to me. You have to come with me." I reach for her hand, but she pulls away.

"No, Ezra. I've told you before. I'm not joining your rebels, as much as I would like to-"

"Emma, he'll turn you evil! Listen to me. The Inquisitor is a Sith who wants to turn Force-sensitives to the dark side of the Force. I don't have time to explain much now, but he's been after me for over a year now. Because I'm Force-sensitive too." I finish. Emma gapes at me. "And if he reads your thoughts and memories, he'll know that you're not exactly on the Empire's side."

Emma stares at me in silence. "How-" she starts, but is interrupted.

"Emma Nevoa!" Her mother runs up to her, angry. "I thought I told you about hanging out with this loth rat!"

"Mom, he's not a loth rat-" she tries, but her mother simply grabs her arm and begins to drag her away.

"Enough of this. You are scheduled to meet with the Inquisitor in one hour. And from now on, you are not allowed to go anywhere without an adult with you. Come on." She pulls her away.

Emma looks back at me and mouths. Help me. I don't want to be evil. Ezra!

I will, I mouth back. I promise, I'll save you. Just don't let him know that you're afraid.

Emma nods and goes with her mother. I run to my airspeeder and gun the engines, and fly back to the Ghost. I need my crew's help with this.

(Arianna pov)

I wake up to an airspeeder zooming towards the Ghost. I jump out of bed and shake my roommate, Sabine. "Sabine, get up! Airspeeder!"

The Mandolorian jolts awake and throws on her armour quick as a flash. We run outside with Zeb and Hera, and find Kanan on the ramp, watching the aispeeder slow as it reaches the Ghost.

"Ezra, why are you up so early? Where were you?" I ask sleepily. Even after living with the rebels for a year now, I still struggle with alarm calls in the morning. Getting up early was never my thing, even at the Academy.

My father, Agent Kallus, is still looking for me. I have simply hid in the shadows of the rebel crew, piloting the Phantom and not leaving the ship much. I don't want to see him-ever again.
Also, I have fallen in love with Ezra. But I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me back. Besides, we're best as friends anyway.

"I was out with a friend," he answers, looking terrified. "Kanan, we have a MAJOR problem. The Inquisitor is taking my friend as his apprentice, so we need to save her. She's going to the Imperial Academy right now! Please, before she dies!"

Kanan gasps and turns to Hera. "The Imperial Academy, please. Rebels, get ready. We have a rescue mission now."

We all nod and race to our rooms to get dressed and ready. Imperial Academy, here we come.
I just hope that my past doesn't come back to haunt me.
