Chapter 8: The Mysterious Man

I was running for my life, the wind blowing my hair back. A tear left behind. My life was over, that was it. My life will always be filled with pain and suffering. None of my dreams will ever come true. I've lost all hope for the future.

Why did I ever have to meet James? Why couldn't my life be normal? Why couldn't I live happily ever after, like all of the fairytales my mother used to read? I just wanted to have a happily married family, I always wanted to have an education, and one day marry a man I love with all my heart.

Basically all I ever wanted was to have a normal life, a happy life. But no, I have the complete opposite. I'm an orphan, I never went to school because I was much to poor and was a peasant, and my life was always lonely, sad, full of painful memories, and I am not married but actually having boy problems. Here I am now, running away from a Prince, and heading to hide from him in the forest the only place I really know and feel home to. I fell to my knees crying, and sat down near the tree. The tree that I always went to when hunting for food.

The wind blew my hair as tears fall down my face, sorrow filling my heart, regret filling my soul. My life is messed up. Everything bad happens to me. I don't even know how I have the emotion happiness.

I heard leaves rustling and it was coming closer and closer. "I've been watching you for a while now." A calm low voice had said. The voice sounded like it came from a man. I looked up trying to trace the masculine voice to the man's location. "You come here once in a while hunting, but today's different. You're just crying in a forest." Where was his voice coming from? "Who are you and what do you want with me?" I asked. "I can help you, I can be there for you, I want to be your ally." Now he was standing in front of me, but a shadow casted over his face. "I have a horse outside the forest waiting for us. Need a lift?"
